Phillies infielder Freddy Galvis began a rehab assignment with high Class A Clearwater Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Galvis, who is recovering from MRSA, is "doing well," manager Ryne Sandberg said. "He'll continue to play. He's getting numerous at-bats. Each game he's getting five or six at-bats a day with this plan. So, he'll continue to play games and he'll build up to 20-25 at-bats in a quick time, so he's on the fast track."

Galvis could be back with the Phillies before the team's current homestand ends April 17.
