Freddy Galvis plays just about everywhere
Phillies utility man Freddy Galvis can play all over the field. In fact, after playing right field Saturday against Baltimore, he's lined up in left Tuesday against Tampa Bay, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
"It’s been good so far," Galvis said. "I practiced there for three days and it’s not too much different."
Galvis, who came up a shortstop but moved to second base last year due to Chase Utley's injuries, was an elite fielding second baseman. He made just one error over 244 chances. This year, Galvis figures to be a super utility man and manager Charlie Manuel believes he'll get at least 300 at-bats by playing him at second, shortstop and third base. Now, it appears he is in the mix as an outfielder as well.
"I love baseball, that’s what I have to say," Galvis said. "Where they put me I’m going to try to do the job."
