Reds starting pitcher Homer Bailey struck out eight in six innings Thursday against the Pirates, but he didn't receive enough offensive support to pull out a win. Bailey settled for a no-decision after allowing two runs on six hits.

Bailey held a 2-1 lead before Pedro Alvarez tied the game in the sixth inning with a solo home run. Bailey, who has one win in his last five starts, threw 79 of 113 pitches for strikes.

The right-hander will start Wednesday at Oakland. Bailey is 4-6 with a 6.29 ERA in 14 career interleague starts. He is 0-1 with a 17.18 ERA in interleague play this year.
