Cubs pitcher James McDonald allowed two earned runs on two hits and five walks in 2 2/3 innings in Wednesday's start against the Mariners.
McDonald's shaky spring continues. He coughed up two home runs while walking three in his spring debut before putting together two scoreless innings his last time out then reverting back to mediocrity Wednesday. He owns a 12.71 ERA and 0:8 K:BB ratio through 5 2/3 innings, and his chance to win the final spot in the team's rotation could be fading away.
