Jason Heyward has braces removed from jaw

Braves outfielder Jason Heyward had the braces holding his injured jaw in place removed Monday, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Heyward, who has been out since August 21 with the broken jaw, isn't expected to be ready to play until next month. His playoff status is uncertain.
