Back in December, the Diamondbacks unveiled seven new uniforms for the 2016 season. They're bold, I'll give them that. Arizona went outside the box, and if nothing else, people are talking about them.

Here's staff ace Zack Greinke showing off the team's new spring training get-up:

Like I said, they're bold. The snakeskin design down around the calves is going to take some getting used to. It almost looks like Greinke is wearing Sedona red socks.

Creating new uniforms is a process, and the D-Backs went through several different designs before finally finding something they liked. The following video takes you through the creative process and shows off some of the uniforms the team rejected.

"We looked at some really creative designs with the uniform. Could we go back to a pullover? Could we go back to a sleeveless uniform?" said vice president of special projects Graham Rossini. "Copper was an idea that we had. Metallic copper was part of the original uniform back in '98, the early days."

Gosh, the old copper/teal/purple color scheme was something else, wasn't it? The D-Backs are coming up on the franchise's 20th anniversary and we're still waiting for their first great uniform. One day they'll get it ... I think.
