The Mariners granted the request of pitcher Randy Wolf to be released Tuesday.
Wolf has been uneven this spring, posting a 4.26 ERA in 19 innings. He has struck out nine batters and walked seven while giving up six home runs. The team actually informed him that he made the 25-man roster, but Wolf balked at signing the advance consent 45-day release form, feeling it was a form of renegotiation, the Seattle Times reports.
