The Mets and Pirates have agreed to a trade that will send first baseman Ike Davis to Pittsburgh, reports CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. The Mets received minor-league reliever Zack Thornton and a player to be named later in exchange for Davis.
The Mets waited until right before first pitch Friday to get the deal agreed to, and it appears likely that Davis' roster spot will be filled by the activation of Chris Young from the disabled list.
