MLB Playoffs 2016: Updated World Series projections, odds, probabilities
Here's how the odds look after NLCS Game 5
On Thursday, The Chicago Cubs defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series, pushing to a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Because we're a Chicago victory away from knowing our World Series matchup, this is an opportune time to check in on the championship odds.
Per SportsLine, here are the chances for each playoff team to win the LCS and World Series, sorted by World Series championship chances:
| Team | Win LCS | Win WS |
Chicago Cubs | 77.4% | 44.3% |
Cleveland Indians | 100% | 42.8% |
Los Angeles Dodgers | 22.6% | 12.9% |
Basically what you'd expect. The Cubs are deemed the best team in baseball, so even without a guaranteed LCS win, they're pegged as the favorite to win the World Series. The Dodgers, on the other hand, literally need a win to stay alive.
We'll see how Game 6 plays out. Look for it on Saturday night, live from Chicago.
