The Rangers had a major-league scout at Tuesday's Cubs-Angels game to evaluate Cubs infielder Darwin Barney, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The Rangers are on the lookout for a viable replacement for second baseman Jurickson Profar, who will miss 10-to-12 weeks with a torn muscle in his shoulder. The Cubs have a plethora of highly-rated infielders coming through the farm system, including Javier Baez, who is expected to join the team at some point this season.
