Rockies premier pitching prospect Jon Gray could be promoted soon from Triple-A Albuquerque, according to MLB.com.
The 23-year-old Gray continued to shine Tuesday night when he held Las Vegas scoreless for six innings with eight strikeouts to lower his ERA to 2.87 over the last 10 starts. He has fanned 39 in his last 28 1/3 innings.
"The reports are good," Walt Weiss said. "He's working on some things that we felt he needed to work on, and he's made a lot of progress. He's had a good month or more, and he's startng to make some noise."
