Softball player performs crafty and powerful trick with batting tee
Marisa Arriaga of Cedar Hill, Texas wants to play college softball with the Longhorns. Any attention gained by a viral video of Arriaga performing an amazing and powerful trick hitting a ball off a batting tee couldn't hurt.
High school softball player Marisa Arriaga of Cedar Hill, Texas (near Dallas) says she has a cousin who plays for the University of Texas, and that it would be her dream to join her. If she excels at other parts of the game like she does on the batting tee, UT would be hard-pressed to ignore her request:

Breaking it down into six parts:
• She kicks the bat off the ground with her right foot and into her right hand
• Bounces the bat from one hand to the other, and puts hands in hitting grip
• Knocks the ball off the tee with a toe tap
• Kicks the ball higher into a hitting altitude
• Takes a powerful cut
• Profit!
Texas has been nationally competitive for years, so it's possible they might not have room for Arriaga. But this favorable scouting report, along with her obvious bat skills, bode well for Arriaga getting a chance to play college softball somewhere. Good hitters can be as hard to find as ace pitchers.
Here she goes again, this time in competition back in June:
Marisa Arriaga -- the next time we see her, it could be in the Women's College World Series playing for Texas. Or it could be at a great softball program in any number of places, just playing ball. Either way, we're probably going to see her again.
