    Ladwig was outrighted to Double-A Pensacola on Aug. 16.

    Ladwig was added to the 40-man and 26-man rosters Aug. 13, but he was designated for assignment one day later after he was shelled for four runs on six hits in 3.1 innings in his lone relief appearance versus Atlanta. The 29-year-old will stick around in the organization at Pensacola, with whom he's produced a 4.13 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 72 frames on the campaign.

    Ladwig was designated for assignment Sunday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

    Ladwig was called up Saturday to boost Miami's bullpen, but he did not appear in either end of the team's doubleheader against Atlanta and has now lost his spot on both the active and 40-man rosters.

  • Marlins' A.J. Ladwig: Contract selected by Marlins

    Ladwig's contract was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

    Ladwig joined the Marlins on a minor-league deal in May and will serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against Atlanta. He should provide length out of the bullpen after posting a 4.52 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 79.2 innings over 17 appearances (13 starts) in the minors this year.
