Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Back with Baltimore
Araujo was assigned to Double-A Bowie on Friday after his rights were acquired from the Cubs for $750,000 in international bonus money, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Araujo, selected from the Cubs in the Rule 5 draft last year, was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Wednesday and had to be offered back to Chicago as he didn't spend enough time on the big-league roster in 2018. He'll now remain with the organization after a small trade was worked out, however. He made 20 appearances for Baltimore in 2018 and accrued a 7.71 ERA with 29 punchouts over 28 innings, and after a rough appearance to kick off 2019 (two runs allowed over 0.2 frames), he'll join the Baysox.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Designated for assignment
Araujo was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Wednesday.
Araujo was a Rule 5 pick from the Cubs last season but hasn't looked like a major leaguer through 28.2 innings, posting an 8.16 ERA with a 14.2 percent walk rate. He spent a long time last season on the injured list with an elbow injury.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Transferred to 60-day DL
Araujo (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday.
The move is purely a procedural one, as Araujo has already been ruled out for the season with a right elbow sprain. It allows the Orioles to reinstate Andrew Susac (wrist) from the restricted list.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Won't return in 2018
Araujo (elbow) will not pitch again this season, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Manager Buck Showalter said in late August that Araujo was nearing a throwing program but will instead be shut down for the season. It remains unclear if there was a specific setback or if the Orioles are simply remaining cautious with the 25-year-old. Araujo will finish the season with a 7.71 ERA and 1.68 WHIP over 28 innings with Baltimore this season.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Closing in on throwing program
Manager Buck Showalter said Saturday that Araujo (elbow) will begin a throwing program in the immediate future, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Showalter added that he hopes to see Araujo pitch at the big-league level at some point in September, but that's far from a guarantee since the right-hander has been sidelined since June with a right elbow sprain. He will need to work his arm all the way back to speed and likely won't have the luxury of competing in minor-league games unless he's able to make a speedy recovery.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Receives PRP shot in elbow
Araujo got a PRP injection in his throwing elbow Thursday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Araujo has been on the disabled list since June 11 due to a right elbow sprain. He's managed to throw a bullpen session since suffering the injury, but the timetable for his return remains unclear.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Tosses bullpen session
Araujo (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Araujo has been out since June 11 with a right elbow sprain. An MRI confirmed that he suffered no structural damage and he now appears to be nearing a return, though whether or not he'll need a rehab appearance is unclear.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Avoids major injury
Araujo's (elbow) MRI results revealed no structural damage, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
While the MRI confirmed that Araujo should avoid a lengthy stay on the disabled list, it did show inflammation in his right elbow. He's been experiencing soreness in his throwing elbow for the past few weeks, and the timetable for his return remains unclear.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Placed on disabled list
Araujo was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right elbow sprain Monday.
A rule five pick from the Cubs back in December, Araujo has struggled to a 7.71 ERA in 28 major-league innings. He looks like a pitcher who had only thrown two innings above High-A before this year, walking 13.9 percent of batters and posting a 2.89 HR/9 rate.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Wins roster spot
Araujo has made the Orioles' roster, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Araujo was selected by the Orioles in the Rule 5 draft in December, so he'll have to remain on the roster for the entire season or be offered back to the Cubs. Still, he seems to have made the team on merit, holding opposing hitters to a .138 average this spring and recording a 0.69 WHIP in 8.2 innings. In seven minor-league seasons, the 24-year-old has struck out 10.4 batters per nine innings while walking just 2.8. He's unlikely to get near the top of the closer depth chart, however, limiting his value in most fantasy formats.

Orioles' Pedro Araujo: Good shot at bullpen spot
Araujo has a good chance to make the Orioles' Opening Day bullpen, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Araujo posted a 1.81 ERA in 64.2 innings at High-A Myrtle Beach in the Cubs' organization last season, striking out 32.4 percent of batters while walking just 6.6 percent. Despite only throwing two innings at Double-A, Araujo was selected by the Orioles in the Rule 5 draft and has impressed so far this spring, allowing two runs in six innings, with one walk and seven strikeouts. He'll have to remain on the active roster all season or be offered back to the Cubs, but he has a good chance to stick on an Orioles team that lacks bullpen depth.
