  Lowe went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double in Friday's 6-2 win against Houston. Lowe broke a 1-1 tie with his three-run blast in the second inning. It was the veteran outfielder's first home run as a member of the Angels, who acquired him in a trade with Tampa Bay in mid-January. Lowe has shown the ability to hit for power before -- he swatted 20 home runs with an .835 OPS over 501 plate appearances with Tampa Bay in 2023 -- but he was limited by injuries over the subsequent two campaigns. Fantasy managers who roster Lowe are likely banking on a change of scenery being able to help him return to that 2023 form.

Lowe was limited to the DH spot again as he continues to be cautious following his return from an oblique injury, but he looked very healthy swinging the bat and running the bases. The veteran outfielder drove home a run with a triple in the first inning and then pushed the Angels ahead for good with a grand slam in the seventh. Lowe reportedly played the outfield for a portion of a minor-league spring game Tuesday, and the expectation is that he'll be ready to play in the field for the Angels by Opening Day.

  Lowe (oblique) said he played the outfield Tuesday for a portion of a minor-league game on the back fields of camp, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. After sustaining an oblique injury in late February, Lowe was held out of action for more than two weeks before returning to the Angels' Cactus League lineup Saturday as a designated hitter. He'll make another start as a DH in Wednesday's split-squad game against the Reds, but Lowe doesn't seem worried about the oblique injury preventing him from playing the outfield on a more frequent basis once the season gets underway.

  Lowe (oblique) served as the Angels' designated hitter and went 0-for-3 with a walk and three strikeouts in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Mariners in Cactus League play. Lowe checked back into the spring lineup for the first time since Feb. 25 after a sore left oblique kept him out of action. The Angels eased Lowe back in by having him serve as a DH, but he should get some exposure to the corner outfield in the coming days. Lowe has just one hit through 10 at-bats in the Cactus League, but regardless of how he performs over the rest of the spring, he's likely to begin the season in a strong-side platoon role for the Angels.

Lowe last played in a Cactus League game Feb. 25, but he took a monumental step forward in his recovery from a sore left oblique by facing live pitching for the first time since suffering the injury. The Angels plan on having Lowe play in minor-league games on the back fields of camp before reinserting him into the Cactus League lineup, but barring any further setbacks with his oblique over the next two weeks, he'll be on track to play Opening Day.

Lowe recently agreed to a one-year contract with the Rays for a modest $2.6 million to avoid arbitration, but he's now headed to a new home. He has struggled to stay healthy the last two seasons, combining to play in only 214 games. His performance has also dipped in that span as he posted a .649 OPS in 2025, though he remains a solid source of power and stolen bases and could benefit from the change of scenery.
