  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Yields four runs in win

Oller (2-4) allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against Toronto. Oller coughed up three runs in the third inning before Ernie Clement smacked a solo homer in the fourth. Oller still picked up a fairly easy win as the Marlins exploded for 15 runs. Since his last win Aug. 25, he was 0-3 with a 5.00 ERA over a five-start stretch. He posted a 5.30 ERA over 52.2 innings between Triple-A Columbus and Triple-A Jacksonville. Oller then produced a 5.31 ERA with a 36:22 K:BB through 42.1 MLB innings.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Fans seven in no-decision

Oller came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta, giving up two runs on eight hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven. The right-hander fell one out short of his second quality start as a Marlin, getting lifted after 92 pitches (61 strikes). Oller has given the beleaguered Miami rotation consistent innings, but that's about it -- he's lasted at least five frames in six of his seven outings, but he's walked multiple batters in all seven en route to a 5.06 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 33:20 K:BB through 37.1 innings. Oller lines up to make his final start of the season on the road next weekend in Toronto.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Loses again

Oller (1-4) took the loss Sunday against Washington, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out two. Oller blanked the Nationals through three innings but surrendered four consecutive hits in the fourth frame as part of a two-run inning. Then, James Wood tagged Oller for a solo shot in the fifth. Oller has taken the loss in three consecutive starts, yielding 13 runs with a 10:10 K:BB across 15.1 innings. He's on track to face Atlanta next time out.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Falls to Pirates

Oller (1-3) took the loss Tuesday against Pittsburgh, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out two. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Oller would hold the Pirates off the board over his subsequent three frames. However, the right-hander would give up a four-spot in the fifth, capped by an Andrew McCutchen three-run homer. The 29-year-old Oller has now dropped back-to-back outings, allowing 10 runs in that span (10.1 innings) after giving up just one run over 11.1 innings in his previous two starts. Overall, Oller sports a 5.40 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP and 24:16 K:BB across 26.2 innings with Miami this year. He's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Nationals this weekend in his next outing.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Stumbles in sixth inning

Oller (1-2) took the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on five hits and five walks over 5.1 innings against the Phillies. He struck out six. Oller held the Phillies to just one run through five innings but ran into trouble in the sixth, allowing a solo home run to Bryson Stott before the next two batters reached base, both of whom scored after he was pulled from the game. Oller coughed up a season-high 10 baserunners, and he's walked 13 batters through 21.2 innings. While the walk rate is an issue for Oller, the 14 hits he's allowed this season are a major improvement over his previous big-league stints. His next start is set to come in a much more favorable matchup as he's slated to take on the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Shows improvement Sunday

Oller (1-1) allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Cubs on Sunday. Oller limited the damage to an RBI single by Christian Bethancourt in the second inning. This was a much better start for Oller compared to his major-league season debut Monday versus Arizona, in which he yielded five runs over 4.2 innings. He's now at a 5.23 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB through 10.1 innings. Oller is likely safe to pencil in for at least one more start, as the Marlins aren't expected to get any of their injured starters back before the end of the month. He's lined up for a road outing at San Francisco.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Struggles in 2024 debut

Oller (0-1) took the loss Monday against Arizona, allowing five runs on three hits and four walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out two. Two of Oller's three hits allowed found the bleachers, with Adrian Del Castillo launching a grand slam in the third inning after Oller walked the bases loaded, and Joc Pederson hitting a solo homer in the fifth frame. While the 29-year-old's first MLB start of the year didn't inspire much confidence, the Marlins rotation is plagued by injuries, which could result in Oller getting another chance. Oller logged a 2.88 ERA across 25.0 innings with Triple-A Jacksonville before being recalled.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Contract selected

The Marlins selected Oller's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday. Oller will start Monday's contest against the Diamondbacks after posting a 2.88 ERA and 24:7 K:BB over 25 innings covering three starts and three relief appearances with Jacksonville. Given the state of the Marlins' rotation, Oller is a candidate to make multiple starts.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Set for call-up

The Marlins are expected to call Oller up from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Monday's game against Arizona, Ari Alexander of KPRC Houston reports. Oller signed a minor-league contract with Miami on July 9 and has logged a 2.88 ERA across 25 innings for Jacksonville. The 29-year-old spent time in the majors with the Athletics in 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Athletics, logging a 6.30 ERA and a 10.07 ERA, respectively. Considering that the Marlins are dealing with plenty of injuries to their rotation, Oller will have a chance to earn more starts if he performs well Monday.

  • Marlins' Adam Oller: Receives MiLB deal from Miami

Oller agreed to a minor-league contract with Miami on Tuesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 in Houston reports. Oller was released by the Guardians last week after posting a 7.48 ERA and 33:18 K:BB over 27.2 innings with Triple-A Columbus. The 29-year-old holds an ugly 7.09 ERA over 28 appearances (15 starts) at the major-league level, but he could get a shot eventually with the Marlins, perhaps after they unload assets at the trade deadline and need someone to fill innings.

Oller signed a minor-league deal over the winter and has spent the duration of the 2024 season at Triple-A Columbus, posting a 7.48 ERA and 33:18 K:BB over 27.2 frames. The right-hander was also dreadful in 94 innings with the Athletics from 2022-23 with a 7.09 ERA and 59:51. He'll seek a new contract with a team looking for some pitching depth.

  • Guardians' Adam Oller: Latches on with Guardians

Oller signed a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Guardians on Wednesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. He'll be reunited with new Guardians manager Stephen Vogt, who caught Oller some in 2022 with the Athletics. Oller had a disastrous 2023 season both in the majors (10.07 ERA) and minors (6.22 ERA) but had a solid minor-league track record previously.

  • Mariners' Adam Oller: Sent outright to Tacoma

Seattle outrighted Oller to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday. Oller passed through waivers unclaimed after being removed from the Mariners' 40-man roster. The 29-year-old right-hander holds a rough 7.09 ERA and 59:51 K:BB in 94 career major-league innings.

  • Mariners' Adam Oller: Claimed by Mariners

Seattle claimed Oller off waivers from the Athletics on Wednesday, Jessica Kleinschmidt of TheComeback.com reports. Oller, 28, holds a 7.09 ERA over 28 appearances (15 starts) at the big-league level covering the last two seasons and has struggled in 2023 at Triple-A Las Vegas as well, pitching to a 7.11 ERA. He'll report to Triple-A Tacoma with his new organization.

Oller was optioned Thursday to Triple-A Las Vegas, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Oller had surrendered 24 runs -- 22 earned -- through 19.2 innings of work this season with the Athletics for a ghastly 10.07 ERA.

  • Athletics' Adam Oller: Grabs second win Monday

Oller (2-0) got the win in an extra-inning victory over the Angels on Monday, firing two scoreless innings during which he allowed a hit and recorded a strikeout. Oller was making his first appearance since a disastrous five-run outing versus the Cubs over 1.1 innings Wednesday, and the right-hander redeemed himself with a crisp 26-pitch effort that was pivotal to Oakland escaping with just its fifth win of the season. Oller has run the gamut with respect to the quality of his performances during a rollercoaster first month of the season, allowing at least five runs on three occasions and conceding one or none in his other three trips to the mound.

  • Athletics' Adam Oller: Back in majors

Oller was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. Just four days after being optioned to the minors, Oller will return to the major-league roster as Dany Jimenez (shoulder) lands on the 15-day IL. Oller allowed seven runs in 2.1 frames during his last appearance and has historically struggled in the majors, giving him virtually no fantasy value at this point.

  • Athletics' Adam Oller: Struggles in first start

Oller allowed seven runs on eight hits and one walk over 2.1 innings during Thursday's 8-7 loss to the Orioles. He struck out two and didn't factor in the decision. Oller pitched a 1-2-3 first inning, striking out Cedric Mullins and Ryan Mountcastle. However, it would spiral from there, as he allowed three runs in the second and another four in the third while recording just one out. He managed to avoid a loss as the A's rallied to tie the game 7-7. Oller has a 9.00 ERA with 8:6 K:B in 12 innings this year.

  • Athletics' Adam Oller: Confirmed to start Thursday

The Athletics have named Oller their starting pitcher for Thursday's game in Baltimore, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Oakland will move to a six-man rotation this week, adding Oller to the mix in order for rookie Shintaro Fujinami to continue making Saturday starts as he transitions from Nippon Professional Baseball to the majors. As a rookie last season, Oller made 19 appearances (14 starts) and struggled to a 6.30 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 74.1 innings. Since Oller covered five innings and 80 pitches in his most recent relief appearance April 7, he should provide Oakland with a decent amount of length in his first start, but he'll still be tough to trust as a streaming option while he's supported by one of MLB's worst lineups.

  • Athletics' Adam Oller: Will start year in MLB

Oller (illness) has been informed he's made the Opening Day roster, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Oller will be a part of the A's to begin the season, but the role that he'll have is undefined at this point. Oakland is also planning to carry JP Sears, but Athletics manager Mark Kotsay says the team won't name a fifth starter at this point. It's possible that Oller will be a rotation option, but the right-hander also could be working out of the bullpen in 2023. He's expected to be ready for the start of the season after being scratched Saturday because of symptoms of vertigo.
