Giants' Daniel Alvarez: Receives spring training invite
Alvarez signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Alvarez spent the 2020 season at the Yankees' alternate training site, but he failed to join the major-league roster at any point. The right-hander has yet to pitch in the big leagues, but he'll get to work with the major-league coaching staff during spring training.

Yankees' Daniel Alvarez: Reassigned to alternate camp
Alvarez was reassigned to the Yankees' alternate training site Thursday.
The move comes as little surprise as Alvarez isn't a member of the team's 40-man roster. The right-hander was dominant as the closer with Double-A Trenton in 2019, posting a 2.31 ERA and 76:23 K:BB with 21 saves over 58.1 innings.
