  • Angels' Stiward Aquino: Makes full-season debut

    Aquino (elbow) made his season debut for Single-A Inland Empire on Sunday and has made two appearances thus far for the affiliate, working three scoreless innings while striking out two and allowing one hit and two walks. Aquino initially signed with the Angels in December 2016, but the 22-year-old right-hander didn't make his full-season debut until almost five and a half years after the fact. A prolonged recovery from Tommy John surgery delayed his arrival to Single-A, but Aquino finally looks to be healthy again.

  • Angels' Stiward Aquino: Nearing end of rehab

    Aquino is nearing the end of his rehab from Tommy John surgery, Kyle Glaser of Baseball America reports. He pitched in Arizona Complex League games on July 8 and July 12, but this report is from July 30, so it's unclear why he hasn't pitched in three weeks. Aquino was once thought of as one of the higher upside pitchers in this farm system, but he is now 22 and has still never pitched in a full-season league.
