  • Brewers' Mike Boeve: Back in action for Biloxi

Boeve (shoulder) has gone 2-for-13 with a double, two walks and three runs in four games for Double-A Biloxi since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Boeve was shelved for the first month of the season while completing his recovery from the right labrum surgery he underwent last October, but he received the green light to rejoin Biloxi after making just one rehab appearance in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. He's been used exclusively as a designated hitter through his first five games this season, but Boeve is expected to eventually become an option at both corner-infield spots once he completes a throwing program.

  • Brewers' Mike Boeve: Recovering from shoulder surgery

Boeve underwent right labrum surgery in October and is building back up in extended spring training, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.

The lefty-hitting third baseman apparently dealt with shoulder problems on and off last season, although he still hit .338 in 79 games. Once fully recovered in early-to-mid May, Boeve could head to Triple-A after logging a 143 wRC+ in 66 games at Double-A last year.

  • Brewers' Mike Boeve: Finishes season on IL

Double-A Biloxi transferred Boeve (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Aug. 21.

Boeve last played Aug. 15 and he missed all of July with an undisclosed injury. It was an up-and-down year for the 22-year-old corner infielder, but he had his best stretch in between the two injuries, hitting .400 with three home runs, seven walks and eight strikeouts in 12 August games. Boeve is a third baseman by trade, but he saw 26 starts at first base for the Shuckers to make room at third base for Brock Wilken. Boeve finishes the year with a .338/.415/.471 slash line, six homers, 15 doubles and a 15.8 percent strikeout rate, primarily at the Double-A level.
