Phillies' Scott Moss: Clears waivers
The Phillies outrighted Moss to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after he cleared waivers Wednesday.
Moss will remain in the organization after the Phillies dropped him from the 40-man roster a day earlier to clear a spot for free-agent pickup Brad Hand. The 27-year-old southpaw is expected to occupy a spot in the Lehigh Valley rotation throughout the season.

Phillies' Scott Moss: Designated for assignment
Moss (shoulder) was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Tuesday.
Moss, whose 2021 campaign ended early due to a shoulder strain, was claimed off waivers from Cleveland in November. He was healthy for the start of the Phillies' big-league spring training, but he won't make it to Opening Day as a member of the organization's 40-man roster. Moss will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to newly signed reliever Brad Hand.

Phillies' Scott Moss: Catches on with new organization
The Phillies claimed Moss (shoulder) off waivers from the Guardians on Wednesday.
Before a strained left shoulder ended his 2021 season prematurely, Moss turned in a 7.08 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and a 29:15 K:BB across 20.1 innings at Triple-A Columbus. Though Cleveland didn't deem the 27-year-old worthy of a spot on the 40-man roster heading into the winter, Philadelphia was seemingly enticed by the excellent 29.9 percent strikeout rate Moss posted before suffering the injury. The Phillies are hoping that Moss will provide some quality starting depth in 2022 if he can move past the shoulder injury and cut down on the free passes.

Guardians' Scott Moss: DFA'd by Cleveland
Moss (shoulder) was designated for assignment by Cleveland on Friday.
Moss dealt with a shoulder injury late in the 2021 campaign but still made nine appearances (seven starts) at Triple-A Columbus. He put up a 7.08 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 20.1 innings and will now lose his spot on the 40-man roster.

Indians' Scott Moss: Reassigned to alternate camp
Moss was reassigned to the Indians' alternate training site Friday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Moss got in some work at Cleveland's major-league camp, but he'll now head to the alternate training site in Lake County ahead of the regular season. The southpaw could be an option to fill in with the big-league club if injuries pile up this year. Moss posted a 2.96 ERA and 159:70 K:BB over 130.2 innings in the minors last season.

Indians' Scott Moss: Optioned to Triple-A
Moss was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.
Moss has yet to make his big-league debut and has only made four starts at the Triple-A level, so he was always likely to return there to start this season. He recorded a strong 2.96 ERA in 26 starts last season, with the majority of those coming at the Double-A level.
