Doyle (knee) was able to participate in a pregame workout in the outfield and could be available off the bench for Sunday's game against the Mets, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Doyle believes that he could be back in the lineup for Colorado "in the next couple of days." The outfielder was carted off the field in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Marlins, but he was diagnosed with nothing more than a bruised right knee before missing the next three games. Even if Doyle doesn't appear in Sunday's contest, he looks as though he'll have a good chance at making it back in the lineup for Monday's game in Arizona. According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, Doyle ran at about 75 percent speed Saturday and continued to track down balls in the outfield Sunday with no major issue.... See More ... See Less

Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Remains out of lineup
Doyle (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets. Doyle has not been able to return to the lineup since he was carted off the field after crashing into the wall Thursday against the Marlins. The outfielder will take a seat with Grandal Grichuk getting the start in center field and hitting fifth against Tylor Megill and the Mets.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Remains out
Doyle (knee) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Mets, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Doyle had to be carted off the field after crashing into the wall Thursday against Miami, but the Rockies are reportedly optimistic he suffered nothing worse than a bruise. He needs at least one more day off, however, so Randal Grichuk will get the task of patrolling the middle of the Coors Field outfield behind Chase Anderson.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Not in lineup Friday
Doyle (knee) is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Mets. This comes as no surprise after Doyle had to be carted off the field Thursday following a hard collision with the outfield wall at Coors Field. The current belief is that he escaped with only a bruised knee, though the Rockies may still be evaluating the situation. Harold Castro is playing center field Friday and the recently promoted Nolan Jones will cover first base.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Optimism after exit Thursday
Rockies manager Bud Black expressed optimism after Thursday's game that Doyle (knee) will be able to avoid the injured list, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports. Doyle had to be carted off the field after crashing hard into the center field wall while attempting to rob a home run in the top of the ninth inning, but early indications are that he only suffered a knee contusion. The dynamic 25-year-old was 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI prior to his exit Thursday. He's tallied four homers and seven steals through his first 25 major-league games.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Carted off field
Doyle had to be carted off the field during Thursday's game against Miami after running into the outfield wall, Suzie Hunter of TheDNVR.com reports. Doyle ran directly into the wall in center field while attempting to rob Jorge Soler of a home run. There's no telling what exactly is bothering Doyle at the moment, but he certainly looked to be in a great deal of pain. The Rockies will take a look at him and should provide more details soon, but he should be considered day-to-day for the time being.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Up at leadoff Thursday
Doyle is hitting leadoff Thursday afternoon against the Marlins. It's the first look at leadoff for Doyle, who's posted a .925 OPS over his last 45 plate appearances and is starting to see more starts in center field. Usual leadoff man Charlie Blackmon has the day off Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Idle Wednesday
Doyle is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. Doyle gets a day off after going 0-for-6 with a run scored and a stolen base between the first two games of the series with Miami. Randal Grichuk gets the start in center field Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Logs seventh steal
Doyle went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 5-3 win over the Marlins. Doyle has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with three home runs and two steals over his last eight contests. The outfielder's strong hitting, aside from a 4:25 BB:K, has helped him take over as the Rockies' starting center fielder, though he'll occasionally cede the spot to Randal Grichuk. Doyle has seven steals, four homers, 13 RBI, 14 runs scored and a .254/.296/.507 slash line through 71 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Sleeper hitters for Week 9 (May 22-28)
Brenton Doyle seems to have secured the starting center field job for now. He's a terribly undisciplined hitter but has flashed plenty of power and speed already and could do serious damage with seven games at Coors Field this week.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Not in Saturday's lineup
Doyle will sit Saturday against the Rangers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Through his first 20 big-league games, Doyle has flashed power (four homers) and speed (six steals). He's also struck out 35.5 percent of the time and is hitting just .237. It remains to be seen if the strikeout issues will overwhelm everything else going forward, but he has a starting job at Coors Field for now, which gives him fantasy appeal as long as he can keep it. Randal Grichuk will start in center field Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Stays hot
Doyle went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored Wednesday against the Reds. Doyle tallied a two-RBI triple in the sixth inning for what proved to be the game-winning hit. He's been hot across his last four games, posting three homers with six RBI and six runs scored. Outside of this hot stretch, Doyle has struggled to reach base consistently -- he has only a .293 on-base percentage across 58 plate appearances -- but he has remained in the lineup consistently even with the return of Randal Grichuk.... Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Tuesday's Waiver Wire Targets
As a general rule, if you have any interesting skills as a hitter, we're going to be interested in you if you play for the Rockies. It feels like it's been a few years since that's actually worked out, but I'll throw Brenton Doyle out there after his two-homer game Monday. He's hitting .250 with an .836 OPS, four homers, and six steals in 17 games, and that power-speed combo is pretty intriguing in Coors Field. He's worth a look in deeper five-outfielder leagues.... Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Goes deep twice
Doyle went 3-for-4 with two homers, a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Monday's win over the Reds. Doyle ripped a two-run shot in the fourth inning followed by a solo homer in the eighth. He's knocked three home runs in the last two games, giving him four through 51 plate appearances this season. The rookie outfielder is slashing .250/.294/.542 with six extra-base hits, six steals and eight RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Expected to join big-league club
The Rockies are expected to recall Doyle from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Doyle is a solid prospect within the Rockies organization, and he was added to the team's 40-man roster during the offseason. He has limited experience at the Triple-A level, but he's slashed .341/.429/.694 with eight homers, 20 runs, 17 RBI and a stolen base over 21 games at Triple-A Albuquerque between 2022 and 2023. The 24-year-old has power and speed upside but will need to cut down on his strikeouts if he hopes to succeed at the major-league level. Doyle should be in the mix for at-bats if Kris Bryant (lower body) is forced to miss time.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: In running for Opening Day roster?
Rockies general manager Bill Schmidt said Thursday that Doyle is making a case for the 26-man roster, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. "I sure wouldn't count Doyle out," said Schmidt. "He's looked really good." The 24-year-old outfielder has a lot of swing-and-miss in his plate approach, but he tallied 26 home runs and 23 stolen bases (in 26 attempts) last season between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque. His raw power and speed would likely play well in the inviting offensive environment at Coors Field. Also helping his cause for the Opening Day squad is that he can cover all three outfield spots.... Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Protected from Rule 5 draft
Doyle was added to the Rockies' 40-man roster Tuesday. Doyle has impressive raw power and above-average speed, but strikeouts have been a major issue in the upper levels. The 24-year-old outfielder hit .256/.300/.473 with a 31 percent strikeout rate, 26 home runs and 23 steals in 548 plate appearances at Double-A and Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Joining big-league camp
Doyle was invited to the Rockies' major-league spring training Wednesday. Doyle hit .383/.477/.611 with eight home runs, 42 runs scored and 33 RBI across 51 games in the Rookie League in 2019. The 21-year-old will have the opportunity to make a positive first impression on the big-league coaching staff during spring training before returning to the minors to continue his climb through the organizational ranks.... Thomas Harding@harding_at_mlb2D ago#Rockies will option 1B Michael Toglia to Triple-A @ABQTopes and recall corner INF-OF Nolan Jones. The belief is OF Brenton Doyle's tight knee injury when he crashed into the CF wall yesterday will not push him to the 10-day injured list.

Thomas Harding@harding_at_mlb3D agoWith CF Brenton Doyle's injury, expect the #Rockies to bring up corner INF-OF Nolan Jones from the Triple-A @ABQTopes. Obtained from the #Guardians over the winter, Jones has sizzled -- .356/.481/.711 12 HR, 13 2B, 2 3B, 42 RBIs and 33 walks against 43 strikeouts.
