Brody Koerner: Heads to open market
Koerner elected free agency Wednesday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
After the Yankees outrighted him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last week, Koerner ultimately decided to test his luck on the open market. The soon-to-be 28-year-old right-hander reached the majors for the first time in 2021, tossing three innings in two relief appearances for New York.

Yankees' Brody Koerner: Outrighted to Triple-A
Koerner cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.
Koerner was designated for assignment earlier in the week but will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 27-year-old spent most of the season at Triple-A and posted a 3.39 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 64:23 K:BB over 77 innings.

Yankees' Brody Koerner: Loses 40-man spot
Koerner was designated for assignment Tuesday.
The 27-year-old made the first two appearances of his big-league career in August, allowing one run in three innings of relief. He was designated for assignment in late August before being added back to the 40-man roster Sunday, but he'll become available for any team to claim again just two days later.

Yankees' Brody Koerner: Added back to 40-man roster
The Yankees selected Koerner's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday and optioned him to the affiliate.
Though he won't be joining the Yankees for their regular-season finale Sunday against the Rays, Koerner will rejoin the 40-man roster after a spot opened up with first baseman Luke Voit (knee) moving to the 60-day IL. Before being designated for assignment in late August, Koerner made two appearances out of the big-league bullpen and gave up an earned run on two hits and two walks over three innings.

Yankees' Brody Koerner: Removed from 40-man roster
The Yankees outrighted Koerner to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.
After making a pair of appearances out of the big-league bullpen earlier this season, Koerner was optioned to Triple-A on Aug. 21 before losing his spot on the 40-man roster altogether just under a week later. Before getting his first taste of the majors, Koerner had been serving as a starting pitcher at Triple-A, and he's expected to remain a member of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre rotation the rest of the season after he passed through waivers unclaimed

Yankees' Brody Koerner: Optioned to Triple-A
Koerner was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.
Contrary to a previous report, Koerner remained with the major-league club across the last several days and made a relief appearance in Friday's win over the Twins. He allowed no hits and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless inning but will now head back to the minor-league club, where he's recorded a 2.95 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 61 innings across 16 appearances (13 starts) this year.

Yankees' Brody Koerner: Sent down Wednesday
Koerner was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Koerner's contract was selected by the Yankees in early August, and he made his major-league debut Aug. 3. The right-hander gave up a run on two hits and a walk in two relief innings but will head back to the minors after left-hander Aroldis Chapman (elbow) was reinstated from the injured list Wednesday.
