Witt went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base during Tuesday's 3-2 win over Toronto. Witt's fifth-inning double proved to be the difference-maker in Tuesday's contest, plating two runs to give the Royals a 3-2 lead they would hold for the rest of the game. The 23-year-old shortstop remains one of baseball's top young stars with a .316/.362/.582 slash line through 105 plate appearances, and he's now logged a base hit in each of his last four games.... Royals' Bobby Witt: Notches fourth steal
Witt went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in a 4-2 win over the White Sox in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader. Witt also went 1-for-4 in the nightcap. He's hit safely in five of the last seven games, batting .333 (10-for-30) in that span. The shortstop is off to another strong start in 2024 with a .321/.369/.628 slash line, four home runs, four steals, eight RBI, 18 runs scored, six doubles and three triples across 84 plate appearances. He's also striking out at a 22.6 percent clip, a bit higher than the 17.4 percent mark he had last year, but that's a fair trade-off for more contact.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Bobby Witt: Four hits, two homers vs. Houston
Witt went 4-for-5 with two homers, five RBI, two additional runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 13-3 win over the Astros. It was a day to remember for Witt -- the 23-year-old shortstop smacked a two-run homer off Hunter Brown in the first inning before tacking on three more runs with a second long ball off Bryan Abreu in the seventh. Witt has looked like an MVP candidate early in the year, going 19-for-53 (.358) with a 1.169 OPS, four homers and three stolen bases through his first 13 games. With the Royals looking like an improved team this year, Witt should be able to build upon his breakout 2023 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Bobby Witt: Swipes second bag
Witt went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles. The 23-year-old shortstop continued his blistering start to the season. Witt has recorded multiple hits in four of the Royals' first six games, batting .400 (10-for-25) with four doubles, a triple, two homers, two steals, two RBI and six runs scored. Ronald Acuna was in uncharted territory last year with his 40-70 campaign, but if any other hitter in baseball has the talent to approach those numbers, it might be Witt.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Bobby Witt: Blasts homer, steals a base
Witt went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and one steal in Monday's loss to the Orioles. Witt flashed all the skills that made him a top fantasy pick against Baltimore on Monday. The dynamic shortstop opened the game's scoring by tattooing a 440-foot to center field off Dean Kremer in the third inning. Witt appears poised for a monster superstar season as he has now collected an extra base hit in each of his first four games and six in total (three doubles, one triple and two home runs).... Witt went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a triple and three runs scored in Sunday's 11-0 win over the Twins. Witt opened his day with a first-inning single, coming around to score on a Salvador Perez three-run homer. The shortstop tripled and scored in the second inning before launching a solo shot of his own off of Kody Funderburk in the third frame, finishing a double short of the cycle on the day. Witt has gone 6-for-11 with five extra-base hits over the first three games of the 2024 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Bobby Witt: Two homers in spring
Witt has gone 4-for-15 with two home runs, a stolen base and four runs scored over five Cactus League games. As if the 11-year contract extension he signed in February wasn't enough proof, Witt is locked in as the Royals' starting shortstop. The 23-year-old offers both power and speed and should be a fixture at or near the top of the batting order this season. He hit .276 with an .814 OPS, 30 home runs, 49 stolen bases, 96 RBI and 97 runs scored in a similar role in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Bobby Witt: Blasts 30th homer
Witt went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 12-5 win over the Yankees. Witt's 30th home run was a two-run shot in the seventh that closed the scoring for the Royals. He's now one stolen base from a milestone, as he'd become only the fourth player in major-league history with a 30-50 season, joining Eric Davis (1987), Barry Bonds (1990) and Ronald Acuna (2023). The second-year star is slashing .275/.317/.493 with 30 homers, 96 RBI, 96 runs and 49 steals over 633 at-bats.... See More ... See Less -

His fifth-inning homer off Cristian Javier proved to be the winning run, while Witt stole two bags for the second straight game and the third time in the last five contests. The 23-year-old is having a big finish to his second MLB campaign, slashing .306/.357/.490 through 12 September games, and he's set new career highs across the board with 29 homers, 46 steals, 84 runs and 89 RBI this season.... He's converted his last six stolen base attempts without getting caught, putting him at 44-for-54 this season. After a relatively quiet first week in September, Witt has bounced back well. He's slashing .276/.317/.494 with 28 home runs, 88 RBI and 83 runs scored across 143 games overall.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Bobby Witt: On base six times in twin bill
Witt went 3-for-6 with three walks, one RBI, one stolen base and three runs scored across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the White Sox. Witt did most of his damage with a 3-for-3 performance in the matinee game, as he was held hitless in the nightcap. The shortstop has cooled off just a bit in September, going 11-for-42 (.262) over his first 10 games this month. He's at a .275/.317/.494 slash line with 28 home runs, 42 steals, 87 RBI and 83 runs scored through 142 contests for the year.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Bobby Witt: Logs two hits and two steals
Witt went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and two steals in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays. Witt and Edward Olivares were the only two Royals' hitters with multiple hits on the day. Witt came into Sunday's contest just 3-for-27 over his last six games but did have his second multi-hit effort in eight games this month. His steal total is now up to 41, which is currently tied with CJ Abrams for the fourth-most in baseball. He became just the second Royals' player ever to record 40 stolen bases at just age 23 or younger. Witt's been one of the few bright spots in what's been an otherwise disappointing season for the franchise. He's now slashing .272/.312/.494 with 28 home runs, 86 RBI, 80 runs and a 31:112 BB:K in 613 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
