LOOK: LeBron James really does play better with a headband
Someone broke down the numbers on the Chosen One's chosen accessories. He needs the gear.
LeBron James has worn a headband for as long as anyone can remember. He rocked it in high school, he wore it as a rookie, it was a constant in his life. Players love routine. You go through the same motions getting ready for, playing in and recovering from a game over and over, you get to enjoy a rhythm.
Yet the Cavaliers ' superstar decided to abandon the headband last season. After some struggles, he returned to it in the playoffs, only to abandon it again. However, some intrepid Reddit user decided to examine exactly what the breakdown of his performances with and without the band were, and well, the results are painfully clear.

James shot the best with no headband, left arm-sleeve from the field, but didn't shoot as well from 3-point or the stripe. Overall, it's clear that James needs that headband in order to thrive.
Although, let me posit an alternative. Depending on what he needs to do, he can adjust his gear. Need to get to the line? No headband, no sleeves (78.6 percent from the stripe). Need to hit some 3s to get the Cavs back in it? Headband and right sleeve. It's like adding different weapons in your load-out in a video game, except with sweat-related gear.
Anyway, overall ... LeBron, bring the headband back. It's science.
