Nazr Mohammed apologizes for ejection after shoving LeBron James
Bulls C Nazr Mohammed apologizes for shoving Miami's LeBron James, earning him an ejection from Game 3. But why was he fouling there in the first place?
Bulls C Nazr Mohammed took to Twitter on Friday night to apologize after he was ejected from Chicago's 104-94 loss to Miami at the United Center for shoving Heat F/G/C/MVP LeBron James as seen in the video above.
Sorry for my overreaction & being ejected. I blacked out & just reacted after I was pushed down. I'm happy it only resulted w/ a push

For the kids who were watching... That not the way to react on the basketball court.

The 35-year-old Mohammed played 63 games for the Bulls this season and was huge in their first-round upset of the Nets.
The entire play as seen above was weird. If you watch, you'll notice three Bulls are back in transition. Any one of them can take a charge on James (easier said than done, I admit, but that's their job). There's just no reason to give a foul there, let alone that kind of foul.
When Mohammed interrupts his movement and starts to wrap up, James has two options. He can assume the official will call the whistle, or he can try to shrug off the contact to keep going. He chose to shrug off the contact, as would any sane human being. So when Nazr goes down, I wouldn't classify it as throwing him down. I'd say James shrugged a defender like he's a running back.
But Mohammed can't know that. He knows he was upright, then went down. So when he gets back up, he's, of course, upset. Mohammed told reporters after the game that he didn't feel it warranted an ejection. But if you push anybody with two hands with that much force, flop or no flop, you're getting tossed. That isn't rocket science.
As for the question of a flop, well, Tom Thibodeau had his own thoughts on that.
