  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Leads team with 26 points in start

Castle closed with 26 points (10-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Friday's 145-134 loss to the Hornets. In his first start since the Spurs lost De'Aaron Fox (finger) for the rest of the season, Castle led San Antonio in scoring Friday while supplying a full stat line. The rookie first-rounder has witnessed a considerable rise in fantasy value as part of the first unit in 2024-25, which should continue going forward. Over his last 11 games as a starter, Castle has averaged 18.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 29.7 minutes.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Back in starting lineup

Castle is in the Spurs' starting lineup against the Hornets on Friday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Castle has come off the bench since Feb. 5 following the Spurs' acquisition of De'Aaron Fox (finger) from the Kings. With Fox out for the season, Castle will re-enter the starting lineup alongside Chris Paul in the frontcourt. As a starter this season, Castle has averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 0.9 steals over 29.7 minutes per game.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Officially cleared

Castle (shoulder) will play Monday against the Mavericks, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Castle will assume his usual role off the bench despite dealing with a minor shoulder injury. He's provided quite the spark for San Antonio of late, averaging 23.3 points in 29.2 minutes over his last six appearances.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Likely to suit up Monday

Castle (shoulder) is probable for Monday's game against Dallas, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports. Castle is expected to avoid an absence due to the left shoulder contusion, though he'll likely go through pregame warmups ahead of Monday's tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET until the club makes a final decision. Over his last 10 outings, the rookie first-round pick has averaged 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals across 24.8 minutes per contest.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Questionable for Monday

Castle is questionable for Monday's game against the Mavericks due to a left shoulder contusion, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. This is a new injury for the rookie, who put up 20 points (7-15 FG), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal in 28 minutes during Sunday's loss in Minnesota. With Jeremy Sochan (calf) doubtful, Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson are candidates for increased roles against Dallas.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Good to go Tuesday

Castle (thumb) is available for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn, according to Spurs reporter Raul Dominguez. Castle was previously considered questionable to play, but the rookie guard will give it a go Tuesday. He's been hot lately, averaging 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals over his last four games.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Iffy for Tuesday

Castle (thumb) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn. The left thumb sprain is a new injury for Castle, who hasn't missed an outing since Dec. 13. The rookie first-round pick is coming off a stellar 32-point performance during Sunday's loss to the Thunder. Over his last five outings, he has averaged 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 three-pointers across 25.6 minutes per game off the bench. If Castle is sidelined Tuesday, Julian Champagnie and Malaki Branham could see a bump in minutes.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: 32 points not enough in loss

Castle ended Sunday's 146-132 loss to the Thunder with 32 points (12-21 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-7 FT), eight rebounds and three assists across 32 minutes. With 32 points, Castle finished one point shy of his career-best mark. He's been on a mini heater for the Spurs, averaging 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 three-pointers in 31.5 minutes over his last three outings. The heavy usage for Castle should continue for the shorthanded Spurs, who'll be without Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) for the remainder of the season.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Shines off bench Saturday

Castle totaled 24 points (8-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Saturday's 130-128 victory over Memphis. Castle surpassed the 20-point mark for the second consecutive appearance, and the rookie continues to shine despite not being part of the first unit. He also bounced back from a couple of subpar performances, and he's been a reliable option off the bench for the most part. He's averaging 15.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game across 11 contests since moving to the second unit in early February.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Quiet in loss

Castle totaled four points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and four rebounds over 12 minutes during Tuesday's 109-103 loss to New Orleans. Castle received fewer than 13 minutes of playing time for the first time since Dec. 29, failing to leave a positive impact off the bench. The rookie first-round pick has put together a fairly successful season thus far. However, he has struggled in his last two outings, during which he has accumulated only six points (2-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 34 total minutes.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Double-double in Thursday's win

Castle recorded 10 points (4-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and three steals over 26 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 120-109 win over the Suns. After a strong all-around showing during All-Star Weekend, Castle kept his momentum by recording his first career double-double when the Spurs' schedule resumed. The fourth overall pick in the 2024 Draft lost his starting spot when De'Aaron Fox arrived from Sacramento, but Castle could be leaned on more heavily from the second unit with Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) out for the rest of the season. Castle's length in the backcourt could be very valuable as San Antonio shifts to more small-ball lineups. In six games off the bench, Castle has averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.2 threes in 25.0 minutes a contest.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Solid outing in All-Star Game

Castle recorded six points (3-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 11 minutes during Sunday's 42-35 All-Star Game semifinal loss to Shaq's OGs. Castle put together a solid all-around performance in the Rising Stars' first-round loss, tying a game-high with two steals and adding six points. Castle has been slotted to a bench role after the acquisition of De'Aaron Fox, but he has still been a consistent contributor, averaging 19.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 24.8 minutes per contest over his last five appearances. The Spurs will return to the front end of a back-to-back set Thursday.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Wins Rising Stars MVP

Castle claimed Rising Stars MVP honors Friday after tallying 12 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 7:34 of court time in Team C's 25-14 win over Team G League in the finals. Team C demonstrated a balanced scoring effort during its 40-34 win over Team T in the semifinals, during which Castle finished with six points, four assists and four rebounds and hit the game-clinching shot. Castle carried the scoring load for Team C in the finals, and his efforts across both games were enough for him to be named MVP. Castle and Team C will advance to Sunday's All-Star event and will face Team Shaq in the semifinals. Castle will also face off against Matas Buzelis, Andre Jackson and Mac McClung in the Slam Dunk Contest Saturday.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Showcases talent in huge win

Castle recorded 20 points (5-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-10 FT), eight rebounds and six assists across 30 minutes during Friday's 144-118 victory over Milwaukee. Castle reached the 20-point mark for a second consecutive game, but based on how good he's been playing in recent weeks, it shouldn't be surprising to see the rookie floor general turn heads with his play. He's scored in double digits in seven of his last eight starts, averaging 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest in that span.

Castle has found his groove as a starter, scoring 23 points or more in the last two games. The 20-year-old has been filling in for Jeremy Sochan (back) and starting the three games for the Spurs. He's averaging 14.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game and shooting 40.7 percent from the floor as a starter for San Antonio.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Will play Sunday

Castle (shoulder) is available off the bench for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, independent NBA writer Matthew Tynan reports. Castle will return to action following a one-game absence due to a sore shoulder, but he will do so in a reserve role. The rookie has been on a roll of late, averaging 15.3 points, 4.7 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 31.2 minutes per game over his past 15 appearances.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Questionable to play Sunday

Castle (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Castle missed Friday's win over the Trail Blazers due to a left shoulder contusion, and the fact that he's been upgraded to questionable suggests the rookie could return to the hardwood for this upcoming contest after a one-game absence. Castle has emerged as a regular starter for the Spurs, as he's been part of the first unit in 17 of his 24 appearances so far. He's averaging 14.6 points, 4.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game when deployed in a starting role.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Not playing Friday

Castle is out for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers due to a left shoulder contusion, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Castle banged his shoulder in the second quarter of the 121-116 win over the Pelicans on Dec. 8, a game in which he finished with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists across 34 minutes. Even though the early diagnosis was just a bruise, the rookie will receive some extra rest and will sit out Friday's rematch against Portland. His next chance to play will come against the Timberwolves on Sunday.

  • Spurs' Stephon Castle: Explodes after trip to locker room

Castle amassed 22 points (8-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 121-116 victory over the Pelicans. Castle banged his shoulder in the second quarter, forcing a brief trip to the locker room. He was back on the bench before halftime and inflicted significant damage for the remainder of the game. Castle scored 12 points in the fourth quarter when he converted two three-point attempts, adding a rebound and a steal. The Spurs are headed into a four-day break before their next game, so Castle's injury is unlikely to be a burden after the rest period.
