Reaves chipped in 28 points (10-17 FG, 7-12 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Wednesday's 120-107 loss to the Kings. Reaves entered Wednesday's game averaging just 10.7 points across three prior meetings versus Sacramento this season, so it's nice to see the 25-year-old erupt against an exploitable defense. Wednesday marked his fourth game with 25-plus points this season -- matching his total from last season -- and Reaves is averaging 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists on 52.6 percent shooting across his last four contests.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Excels with 19 points
Reaves closed Sunday's 120-109 victory over the Timberwolves with 19 points (7-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and four assists over 36 minutes. Reaves produced a solid line alongside his All-Star teammates. The team has extreme confidence in Reaves, who finds perimeter opportunities often as the off-guard, and he's usually a regular assist converter for LeBron James. D'Angelo Russell's shot was a bit off to begin the game, and Reaves capably picked up the slack.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Posts well-rounded stat line Friday
Reaves provided 18 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 37 minutes during Friday's 123-122 win over the Bucks. Reaves took a back seat on offense to backcourt mate D'Angelo Russell, who went off for 44 points, but the former nonetheless put up a healthy line to contribute to an important Lakers victory. Reaves finished third on the team with 18 points and second with seven dimes while chipping in a handful of rebounds. He's been consistent (though not overwhelming) of late, recording between 10 and 19 points in nine straight games and knocking down multiple triples in all but two contests during that span.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Double-double in career-high game
Reaves ended with 19 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and 14 assists in 37 minutes during Saturday's 124-114 loss to Denver. Reaves led all players in Saturday's contest with a career-high assist total and connected on a team-high-tying trio of threes, finishing as one of two Lakers with a double-double during a losing effort. Reaves has handed out 10 or more dimes in five games this season, recording a double-double in four of those outings.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Continues solid play as starter
Reaves produced 12 points (6-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 39 minutes during Thursday's 134-131 overtime victory over the Wizards. Since moving into the starting lineup at the beginning of January, Reaves has averaged 16.3 points, 6.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 33.8 minutes per game. After a slow start, the Lakers are finding their groove ahead of the playoffs, and Reaves and Rui Hachimura's insertion into the starting lineup is a key factor in Los Angeles' turnaround.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Posts 16 points in loss
Reaves totaled 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt), four assists, two rebounds and one block in 27 minutes during Thursday's 128-110 loss to Golden State. The Lakers could have used a bit more production from Reaves, who was expected to have an increased role with LeBron James (ankle) on the sideline. Reaves appeared to suffer a leg injury at one point in the third quarter, but he checked back into the contest following a brief stint on the bench. His status may still warrant a close eye heading into the second leg of a back-to-back set Friday against the Spurs, though Reaves may be in line for more of a supporting role anyway with James expected to return to action.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Balanced line in victory
Reaves notched 15 points (3-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 125-111 victory over Detroit. We saw the first glimpse of Spencer Dinwiddie's involvement, and the result appears to be good news for Reaves. Dinwiddie performed as a platoon with D'Angelo Russell, so while it's a concern for Russell's fantasy managers, Reaves' output appears to be safe. It wasn't a great shooting night for Reaves, but his seven dimes and a flawless night at the charity stripe boosted his fantasy total.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Explodes for 27 points in win
Reaves supplied 27 points (10-15 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), two rebounds and four assists over 31 minutes during Friday's 139-122 victory over the Pelicans. Reaves' shooting stroke was superb in the blowout win, and he put together his third-best scoring total of the season as a result. He was coming off two consecutive double-doubles, and while it looks like the Lakers are days away from offering a contract to Spencer Dinwiddie, Reaves is playing at a high level and it would be difficult to imagine coach Darvin Ham demoting the Oklahoma product.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Double-double in Thursday's loss
Reaves provided 15 points (6-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, 10 assists and two steals over 36 minutes during Thursday's 114-106 loss to the Nuggets. It's his second straight game with double-digit dimes, and his fifth double-double of the season. Reaves has started 19 straight games, taking over that role at the beginning of January, and in that time the third-year guard is averaging 16.3 points, 6.3 assists, 3.0 boards, 1.7 threes and 0.9 steals.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Stays hot in win over Knicks
Reaves notched 22 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in 39 minutes during Saturday's 113-105 victory over New York. Reaves is operating with scoring conviction that is a legitimate swing factor in the Lakers' day-to-day success. His re-ignited foul-drawing prowess is yielding 6.6 free-throw attempts across his last five games, which is a huge improvement from the 3.3 free throws he averaged throughout his first 46 appearances this season. He averaged 4.1 free-throw attempts per game last season.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Makes career-high seven threes
Reaves notched 32 points (10-18 FG, 7-10 3Pt, 5-7 FT), two rebounds and three assists across 35 minutes during Thursday's 114-105 win over the Celtics. The Lakers were without their two most dominant players, Anthony Davis (Achilles) and LeBron James (ankle), against the best home team in the league Thursday, but Reaves stepped up his game and notched an impressive outing, tallying a career-high mark in threes made and a season-high mark in points. Reaves is averaging 16.5 points, 5.7 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game since the beginning of January.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Hits for season-high 28 in loss
Reaves finished with 28 points (10-19 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-7 FT), six assists and two steals across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 138-122 loss to the Hawks. With Anthony Davis (Achilles/hip) sidelined, Reaves came through with his best scoring effort of the season, but LeBron James was his only teammate to deliver 20 or more points. Reaves moved into the starting lineup at the beginning of January, but his usage and production haven't changed much, and the third-year guard averaged 15.5 points, 5.9 assists, 2.9 boards, 1.4 threes and 0.9 steals through 15 games on the month while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Unimpactful in loss
Reaves contributed eight points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Monday's 135-119 loss to the Rockets. Reaves regressed after averaging 16.0 points on 11.8 shots over his last four contests, and his lack of firepower offensively is especially disappointing in the context of Anthony Davis (Achilles/groin) being hobbled. Houston's fifth-ranked defense is truly formidable, however, with Tuesday's matchup against Atlanta representing a bounce-back opportunity for Reaves.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Puts up 20 points in win
Reaves accumulated 20 points (7-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and eight assists in 33 minutes during Thursday's 141-132 victory over Chicago. The Lakers went over 60 percent from the floor as a team in the win, and Reaves deserves credit for missing only one of his eight shot attempts. Although Reaves still shows a lot of variance in his stat lines, he's started every game in January and is averaging 14.9 points, 5.9 assists and 3.2 rebounds over 12 games with the first unit.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Passive performance in loss
Reaves ended with nine points (4-12 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 33 minutes during Friday's 130-112 loss to the Nets. Reaves struggled to find any rhythm in the loss, scoring no more than 15 points for the sixth time in the past seven games. Despite moving back into the starting lineup, Reaves has been unable to make the most of the situation. He is barely inside the top 100 over the past month, leaving a lot of managers feeling unfulfilled.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Efficient game in narrow win
Reaves supplied 11 points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 132-131 victory over Toronto. Reaves had some trouble finding the bottom of the basket from long range, but he had an otherwise respectable showing in another start. D'Angelo Russell is active once again, and although the team will probably restrict his minutes over the next week, it will be interesting to see what happens to Reaves once Russell is 100 percent. Reaves may give way to Russell, but he's played well enough to get a starting spot.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Log best assist total of season
Reaves closed Friday's 127-113 loss to the Grizzlies with 19 points (8-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, 12 assists and two steals in 40 minutes. The Lakers are in a spiral since winning the In-Season Tournament, losing 10 of 13 games since hoisting the trophy in Vegas. Giving Austin Reaves the kind of playing time he had last season could serve as a remedy for what ails them. Although Reaves got the start at point guard due to D'Angelo Russell's lower-body injury and absence, coach Darvin Ham won't commit to a starting role for him despite his stellar play during the team's rally through the playoffs last season. Reaves is worth a spot on fantasy rosters regardless, as he's put up 17.8 points, 5.6 dimes, 4.3 boards, 2.1 triples and 0.9 steals over 16 contests since the start of December.... See More ... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Excellent line in starting role
Reaves had 24 points (7-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five rebounds and eight assists in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 110-96 loss to the Heat. Reaves got the start for the first time since Dec. 15 thanks to better stat lines to end the month, and although the Lakers came up short, coach Darvin Ham might be inclined to give Reaves his old job back. Jarred Vanderbilt has played well but isn't the best fit for the Lakers' scheme, as Reaves' off-the-ball skills combined with his passing ability complement LeBron James and the other playmakers. The lineup will shuffle again when D'Angelo Russell (lower body) returns to action, but drawing the start was an encouraging sign of increased confidence in Reaves.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Austin Reaves: Out of sorts
Reaves logged nine points (2-11 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT) and two rebounds over 29 minutes during Saturday's 108-106 loss to the Timberwolves. Reaves failed to record an assist for the first time since Christmas of 2022. He was also unable to continue the momentum of knocking down 45.3 percent of 5.8 triples across his last 11 games. It's strange to see such hapless struggles from a dynamic player with the poise that Reaves showed last season, but he had been amid a strong stretch of play and profiles as a bounce-back candidate moving forward.... Lakers' Austin Reaves: Logs 20 points off bench
Reaves tallied 20 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and a steal across 33 minutes in Monday's 114-109 loss to the Knicks. Aside from Anthony Davis and LeBron James, Reaves was the only player to score in double figures during the loss. Although Reaves has recovered from a slow start to the season, coach Darvin Ham has yet to give back the starting job, opting instead for players like Cam Reddish and Max Christie to man Reaves' old spot. Reaves got a start Friday night thanks to a scratch from D'Angelo Russell and is consistently outplaying the teammates ahead of him on the depth chart.... See More ... See Less
