Rush spent much of 2016 on the 49ers' practice squad and ended the year with the Jaguars. Now with the Chiefs, Rush will look to make the roster as a depth linebacker and special teams player.

Rush was released by the Jaguars on Monday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.
Rush spent the majority of the 2017 season on the 49ers practice squad before signing with the Jaguars' active roster in December. He ultimately played in two games with the team. The Michigan State product will look for an opportunity with a different team for the upcoming season.

While a starting role seems out of reach, he could be used as a situational pass rusher during the first four weeks of the season while Aaron Lynch serves his suspension.
