  • Colts' Jerry Tillery: Coming to Indianapolis

Tillery and the Colts agreed to terms on a contract Tuesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. The veteran defensive tackle is headed to Indianapolis following a one-year stint with Kansas City. Across 17 contests in 2025, Tillery logged 374 defensive snaps and tallied 20 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks. He's expected to compete for a reserve role on the defensive line.

  • Chiefs' Jerry Tillery: Reliable on one-year deal

Tillery finished the 2025 season with 20 tackles (eight solo), including 1.5 sacks, and added a fumble recovery over 17 games. Tillery was a reliable depth defensive tackle, playing 17 percent to 52 percent of defensive snaps per game throughout the entire 2025 season. The 29-year-old has been a Charger, Raider, Viking, and Chief throughout his tenure in the NFL, and 2026 could mark a return to one of those franchises or a new destination entirely for the lineman heading into his ninth season.

  • Chiefs' Jerry Tillery: Good to go for season finale

Tillery (personal) is active for Sunday's contest against the Raiders, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. Tillery dealt with a personal matter Friday and missed the team's final practice of the week, but he'll now be good to go for Week 18. The 29-year-old will operate in his typical role as a top reserve option behind Chris Jones and Derrick Nnadi at defensive tackle versus Las Vegas.

  • Chiefs' Jerry Tillery: Questionable with personal issue

Tillery (personal) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders. Tillery was a fresh addition to Friday's injury report and did not participate in practice due to a personal issue he was attending to. It is unclear whether or not this issue will be resolved in time for Sunday's contest. If the 29-year-old's circumstances prevent him from suiting up, Mike Pennel and Zacch Pickens will likely see an increased number of rotational snaps at defensive tackle behind starters Chris Jones and Derrick Nnadi.

  • Chiefs' Jerry Tillery: Joins KC

Tillery signed with the Chiefs on Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the team's official site reports. The defensive tackle appeared in all 17 regular-season games last year and in Minnesota's wild-card playoff loss to the Rams, making 11 starts in the regular season. Tillery finished the 2024 regular season with 28 tackles (15 solo), two pass breakups and a forced fumble. The 2019 first-round pick of the Chargers has started 50 of the 96 regular-season games he's played in during his career, with his career-best season coming in 2021 when he recorded 51 tackles (24 solo), including 4.5 sacks.

  • Vikings' Jerry Tillery: Suits up for all 17 games in 2024

Tillery notched 28 tackles (13 solo), two pass breakups and one forced fumble across 17 regular-season appearances with the Vikings in 2024. Tillery began the 2024 campaign hovering around the range of 50 percent of defensive snaps, but from Week 11 on, his rotational role involved closer to 30 percent of defensive snaps per game. The 28-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so he may need to search for a chance to contribute with another club.

  • Vikings' Jerry Tillery: Ready for Week 1

Tillery (lower leg) was absent from Minnesota's injury report Wednesday ahead of Sunday's Week 1 game against the Giants. Tillery was carted off the field with a lower leg injury during a practice in early August, but it appears he's recovered in time for the Vikings' regular-season opener Sunday. The veteran defensive lineman signed a one-year contract worth up to $3.75 million with Minnesota this past offseason, and he figures to line up as one of the team's top defensive ends in 2024.

  • Vikings' Jerry Tillery: Carted off field Saturday

Tillery left Saturday's practice session on a cart due to a lower right leg injury, Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Tillery signed a one-year deal with the Vikings in March after spending the last two years with the Raiders, and the 2019 first-round pick is slated to start at defensive end opposite Jonathan Bullard. If Tillery were to miss extended time, Jonah Williams and Jihad Ward are candidates to see more snaps with the first-team defense during training camp and preseason games.

  • Jerry Tillery: Set to be let go by Las Vegas

Tillery is set to be released by the Raiders on Wednesday, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Tillery signed a two-year, $6.8 million contract with the Raiders in March of 2023, appearing in all 17 of the team's games in 2023, recording 31 tackles, including 2.0 sacks, while also recovering a fumble. His release will create $3.8 million in cap space for Las Vegas, which will enter the new league year Wednesday with up to $50 million in overall cap space.

  • Jerry Tillery: Let go by Bolts

The Chargers waived Tillery (back) on Thursday. Tillery was dropped by the Chargers after he missed last Sunday's win over the Falcons with a back injury, and he will now pass through waivers before becoming a free agent, should he go unclaimed. The 2019 first-round pick collected a career-high 51 tackles and 4.5 sacks over 16 games last season, but he recorded just eight tackles, one sack and one forced fumble through the first seven games of 2022. Tillery was also on pace to play his fewest number of defensive snaps since the 2019 campaign, so his absence shouldn't affect the Chargers' defense much moving forward.

  • Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Won't play Sunday

Tillery (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons. After missing the first two practices of Week 9 prep, Tillery returned in a limited fashion Friday but will still miss Sunday's contest due to a back injury. In his absence, Morgan Fox, Otito Ogbonnia and Jeremiah Attaochu are candidates for increased roles.

  • Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Returns from COVID list

Tillery was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports. Tillery missed Week 11 as a result of testing positive for the illness. He will return to his regular starting role on the Chargers defensive line.

  • Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Flashes first-round talent

Tillery posted 17 tackles (nine solo) and two sacks in his rookie campaign. Tillery played just 360 defensive snaps due in large part to the Chargers' depth along the defensive line, but the 2019 first-round pick at times exploded off the tape, working in tandem with feared defensive ends Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa to create havoc in the middle of the pocket. Tillery should continue to see more time at defensive tackle in the coming seasons, particularly with a number of interior defensive linemen potentially not returning following a disappointing 2019 season.

  • Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Unable to practice

Tillery (shoulder) did not practice Friday during the team's rookie minicamp, Eric D. Williams of ESPN.comreports. Tillery had surgery in March to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, so it makes sense that he'd be unable to practice, particularly given his 3-to-4 month recovery timeline. Expect the 2019 first-round pick to be available come the start of the team's official training camp in August.

  • Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Joins Chargers' loaded front

The Chargers selected Tillery (torn labrum) in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 28th overall. Los Angeles gets more ammo for an already loaded front by adding Tillery out of Notre Dame. At 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds with 34 1/4-inch arms, Tillery is a long-levered athlete who bolstered his stock with a strong combine that was highlighted by a 4.93 40-yard dash and a 4.33-second short shuttle. His frame doesn't project well to play on the interior, but he did his best work outside the guard and outside the tackle at Notre Dame anyway. He figures to be a rotational piece behind Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram to start his career, but don't be surprised if he carves out a significant role for the Chargers before long.
