  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Solid in spot start Saturday

Herbert rushed 20 times for 69 yards and brought in seven of eight targets for 14 yards in the Bengals' 19-17 win over the Steelers on Saturday night. Herbert got the spot start due to Chase Brown (ankle) being sidelined and shouldered quite the heavy workload after having previously combined for just eight carries since arriving in Cincinnati via trade with the Bears. The veteran running back unsurprisingly found tough sledding on the ground against the Steelers, but he was a steady presence in the passing game and finished third on the team in receptions and targets. If the Bengals are able to make their way into the postseason with help Sunday, Herbert would be in line to draw another start in the wild-card round if Brown remains sidelined.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: In line for leading role Saturday

Herbert is in line to be the Bengals' primary running back Saturday in Pittsburgh due to Chase Brown (ankle) being inactive for the contest, Geoff Hobson of the team's official site reports. Brown won't suit up one week removed from spraining his right ankle during last Saturday's overtime win against the Broncos. Since joining the Bengals at the trade deadline, Herbert has received spot duty in seven consecutive games prior to this Week 18 matchup, turning eight carries into 45 yards (5.6 YPC) and gathering in his only target for seven yards. Considering Cincinnati's other available RBs on Saturday are Trayveon Williams (no touches in 16 games) and undrafted rookie Kendall Milton (one appearance this season), Herbert appears poised to operate as a workhorse for a high-powered offense.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Sleeper RBs

Chase Brown (ankle) is likely out for this Week 18 game at Pittsburgh, which would make Herbert the starter. While Brown has been awesome this season, the Bengals have gotten great production from their backfield all year with Brown and Zack Moss. The duo combined to score at least 13.1 PPR points in 13 of 16 games this season, and hopefully, Herbert can follow suit. He had four games last year in Chicago with at least 15 total touches, and he scored at least 19.1 PPR points in three of those outings. I like Herbert as a No. 2 running back in all leagues.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

Chase Brown is dealing with a high-ankle sprain and could miss Week 18 at Pittsburgh. If he's out, then Herbert could start for the Bengals, and he would be worth using as a No. 2 running back in all leagues. We haven't seen Herbert do much for the Bengals since joining the team via trade from the Bears, but he had four carries for 23 yards against Denver in Week 17. And the Steelers could be resting starters on defense for this game, which would help Herbert even more.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Could be headed for increased role

Herbert rushed the ball four times for 23 yards in Saturday's 30-24 overtime win over the Broncos. Chase Brown led the Bengals' backfield but suffered a sprained ankle late in the fourth quarter when he slid short of the end zone. That pushed Herbert into a substantial role in overtime, highlighted by a 13-yard rush to kick off Cincinnati's game-clinching drive. Herbert should lead the backfield in Week 18 against Pittsburgh if Brown is unable to suit up.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: No touches in win

Herbert failed to record a single rushing attempt or target in Sunday's 24-6 win over the Browns. Herbert was a complete non-factor in Week 16, playing just two offensive snaps against the Browns. Fellow running back Chase Brown continues to handle the vast majority of Cincinnati's backfield workload, with Herbert providing little to no fantasy value outside of his role as an insurance policy behind Brown. The 26-year-old remains far off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Broncos.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Handles one carry in Week 15

Herbert rushed once for four yards in Sunday's 37-27 win over the Titans. Herbert continued to play an extremely small role in the Bengals' offense since being acquired by Cincinnati at the trade deadline. The veteran running back played just three of the Bengals' 69 offensive snaps Sunday, while Chase Brown played all but five snaps in the contest. Since joining the Bengals in Week 10, Herbert has attempted just four rushes and caught one pass. Barring an injury to Brown, the 26-year-old Herbert cannot be trusted to provide relevant fantasy production in such an insignificant role. He should be considered nothing more than an insurance policy behind Brown heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Browns.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Stuck in small role on offense

Herbert played seven of the Bengals' 71 snaps on offense and carried twice for four yards while adding a seven-yard reception in Monday's 27-20 win over the Cowboys. Though Herbert saw solid usage during his limited time on the field, he'll likely continue to handle a small role on offense while Chase Brown has emerged as a three-down workhorse out of the backfield. Herbert also brought back two kickoffs for 67 yards in the Week 14 win, but he'll likely cede those duties to Charlie Jones (groin) if the latter player is able to play Sunday at Tennessee.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: One carry in loss

Herbert rushed once for 14 yards in Sunday's 44-38 loss to the Steelers. Herbert's one carry Sunday was his first since joining the Bengals at the trade deadline. The 26-year-old running back played just six offensive snaps against the Steelers after playing a total of six offensive snaps across his first two appearances. With such limited usage behind lead back Chase Brown, Herbert remains nothing more than an insurance policy for fantasy purposes. As the season progresses, it's possible the fourth-year back could continue to see his snap percentage gradually increase if the Bengals decide to lighten Brown's workload down the stretch. Herbert will look to get more involved when the Bengals visit the Cowboys in Week 14.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Week 14 Waiver Priority List

If we learned anything from the Christian McCaffrey/Jordan Mason injuries it's that stashing handcuffs is a good idea if you have the roster space. And Herbert is the No. 2 running back in Cincinnati behind Chase Brown, giving Herbert some potential as a lottery ticket. He's worth adding in all leagues for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Plays four offensive snaps in loss

Herbert failed to record a single rushing attempt or target in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Chargers. Herbert was not a part of the Bengals' offensive game plan Sunday, as the veteran running back still has yet to see a single touch on offense for Cincinnati. Herbert did, however, gain 29 yards on his only kick return in the contest. It's possible that the 26-year-old may still be taking time to get acclimated into the Bengals' offense, but it is surprising to see such limited playing time for a player that the Bengals traded for ahead of the trade deadline. Meanwhile, fellow running back Chase Brown has continued to see a massive workload as Cincinnati's lead back. Herbert will look to get more involved in the offense when the Bengals come out of their Week 12 bye to face the Steelers on Dec. 1.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Sees just two snaps in team debut

Herbert didn't record a carry or a target in Thursday's Week 10 loss to Baltimore. Herbert joined Cincinnati in a trade between the Bengals and Bears on Tuesday, and he was able to suit up just two days later. However, Herbert didn't make the best first impression, as he couldn't grasp the ball on a handoff from QB Joe Burrow in the second quarter. The fumble was questionably charged to Burrow, and Herbert was credited with the recovery after he fell on top of the ball, but that was essentially the extent of Herbert's involvement in the contest (he logged just one other snap). The fourth-year running back has a chance to grow into a significantly larger role once he gets more accustomed to the Bengals' playbook, especially with Zack Moss (neck) landing on injured reserve Tuesday, but Chase Brown figures to remain heavily involved after tallying 94 total yards from scrimmage and scoring a touchdown in Thursday's loss.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Active versus Baltimore

Herbert is active for Thursday night's game against the Ravens. Though he just joined the Bengals on Tuesday in a trade with the Bears, Herbert has absorbed enough of his new team's offense to enter the backfield mix in short order. In his new locale, Herbert will help fill the void created by the absence of Zack Moss (neck), who is on IR and could miss the rest of season. In that context, Herbert is in line to step into a complementary role behind Chase Brown that should grow as the season progresses.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: On track to play Thursday

Herbert is expected to play Thursday night against the Ravens, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Per Fowler, Herbert, who joined the Bengals on Tuesday via a trade with the Bears, worked aggressively over the past few days to get up to speed with his new team's offense, paving the way for him to step right into the lineup in Week 10. With Zack Moss (neck) on IR and a candidate to miss the rest of season, Herbert is slated to step into a complementary role in a backfield led by Chase Brown. It remains to be seen how heavy a workload he'll see in his anticipated debut with Cincinnati, but in his new locale Herbert could end up seeing enough volume as the season progresses to resurface on the fantasy radar.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Week 10 Waiver Priority List

The Bengals traded a seventh-round pick to the Bears for Herbert, who will now replace Zack Moss (neck) as the No. 2 running back in Cincinnati. Herbert is now the backup for Chase Brown, and Herbert could be a lottery ticket in case Brown misses any time. Herbert is worth adding for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Bengals' Khalil Herbert: Headed to Cincinnati

The Bengals acquired Herbert from the Bears on Tuesday in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round draft pick, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. A healthy inactive for both of the Bears' last two games, Herbert was the odd man out in a Chicago backfield that also included D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson and Travis Homer. With the move to Cincinnati, Herbert will likely step in to provide valuable depth and experience behind Chase Brown. Herbert should settle in as the No. 2 option ahead of Trayveon Williams and Kendall Milton with Zack Moss (neck) expected to miss at least the rest of the regular season, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

  • Bears' Khalil Herbert: Inactive Sunday

Herbert is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. With Herbert a healthy scratch Sunday, D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson and Travis Homer are available to handle the Bears' backfield duties against Arizona. As the NFL trade deadline approaches, it's possible that Herbert could be dealt by Chicago in the coming days.

  • Bears' Khalil Herbert: Week 9 Waiver Priority List

There's a chance Herbert could get traded to a new NFL team with the trade deadline Nov. 5, and you should add him in deeper Fantasy leagues if you have an open roster spot. With the right team, Herbert could emerge as a weekly starter in all leagues. He's worth 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Bears' Khalil Herbert: Healthy scratch Sunday

Herbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game in Washington. Herbert hasn't earned a touch since Week 3, and fellow running back Travis Homer is back in action Sunday, so the former will don street clothes for the first time this season while the latter is available along with D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson out of the Bears backfield. Herbert's next chance for game action is next Sunday at Arizona.
