  • Jets' Marcelino McCrary-Ball: Officially sticking around New York

McCrary-Ball (hamstring) and the Jets agreed on a one-year contract Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log. McCrary-Ball was tendered by New York as an exclusive right free agent in March, and the two sides officially put pen to paper Wednesday. The linebacker was dealing with a hamstring injury late in the 2025 campaign, but figures to be back to full health by the time the Jets re-take the field. The 27-year-old will provide the team with an additional depth option behind Francisco Mauigoa (neck) and Mykal Walker in 2026.

  • Jets' Marcelino McCrary-Ball: Placed on injured reserve

The Jets placed McCrary-Ball (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday, Susanna Weir and Eric Allen of the team's official site report. McCrary-Ball will see his second stint on injured reserve of the season after missing Week 4 through Week 11 with a hamstring injury as well. The linebacker was active versus the Ravens in Week 12, playing 92 percent of special teams snaps. He also contributed 29 defensive snaps and 23 special teams snaps to the Jets' Week 13 victory over the Falcons before once again succumbing to hamstring issues. The 26-year-old will have to spend at least the next four weeks on IR, with his only possible remaining appearance for the 2025 regular season being Week 18 against the Bills.

  • Jets' Marcelino McCrary-Ball: Won't play Sunday

Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Wednesday that McCrary-Ball (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins. The 26-year-old returned from a seven-game absence in the Jets' Week 13 win over the Falcons, playing 29 defensive snaps and recording five total tackles. However, it now appears he's still dealing with a hamstring injury, as Glenn has already ruled him out for the Week 14 divisional matchup. While McCrary-Ball is sidelined again Sunday, Mykal Walker and Kobe King could have expanded roles in the Jets' linebacker corps.

  • Jets' Marcelino McCrary-Ball: Placed on IR

The Jets placed McCrary-Ball (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday. McCrary-Ball picked up the injury during the Jets' 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers, but he was able to play through the issue and finished with seven tackles (two solo). Further tests revealed the severity of the injury, and by being placed on IR, McCrary-Ball will be forced to miss at least the next four games, making Week 8 against the Bengals on Sunday, Oct. 26 the earliest he is eligible to be reinstated. Quincy Williams (shoulder) was also placed on IR, so the Jets will be forced to turn to Mark Robinson, Cam Jones and rookie fifth-rounder Francisco Mauigoa to fill in at outside linebacker.
