  • Austin Trammell: Joins Jags' practice squad

Trammell signed with the Jaguars' practice squad Wednesday. Trammell was dropped by the Jaguars on Monday, but it now appears the team has had a change of heart. The Rice product has appeared in Jacksonville's last five games, catching three of 10 targets for 46 yards. He played a season-high 34 offensive snaps in the Week 13 win over the Titans, so his role could continue to grow in the Jaguars' offense if he's elevated to the active roster for Sunday's matchup against the Colts.

  • Austin Trammell: Waived by Jacksonville

The Jaguars waived Trammell on Monday, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. The 27-year-old played a season-high 33 offensive snaps during Sunday's blowout win at Tennessee, but he's now lost his place on the active roster after failing to secure any of his four targets. Trammell was elevated to the active roster from Jacksonville's practice squad in late October and caught three of 10 targets for 46 yards across five games.

  • Jaguars' Austin Trammell: Secures first catches of 2025

Trammell caught two of three targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 36-29 loss to the Texans. The 27-year-old made his season debut last week in Las Vegas and failed to catch his lone target, but he was more involved in the passing game Sunday. Trammell played just eight offensive snaps, however, so he shouldn't be expected to have a significant role moving forward even if Brian Thomas (ankle) misses more time.

  • Jaguars' Austin Trammell: Signed to active roster

The Jaguars signed Trammell to the active roster from the practice squad Friday. Trammell has spent all season with the Jacksonville practice squad and was elevated once, though he has yet to see game action. He'll likely serve primarily as a special-teamer while taking the roster spot of Travis Hunter (knee).

  • Austin Trammell: Lands back on practice squad

Trammell reverted to Jacksonville's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Trammell was elevated ahead of Sunday's Week 4 matchup against San Francisco but didn't get into the game. His opportunity came as a result of Dyami Brown (shoulder) missing the contest. If Brown is sidelined again in Week 5, Trammell could get another gameday opportunity, but he doesn't seem likely to play a major role.

  • Jaguars' Austin Trammell: Elevated from practice squad

The Jaguars elevated Trammell from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the 49ers, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Trammell will provide extra depth at receiver for Jacksonville, as Dyami Brown is currently questionable with a shoulder injury. This is the first time the team has elevated Trammell, and it will be able to do so two more times this season following Sunday's matchup.

  • Jaguars' Austin Trammell: Stays in Duval on futures deal

Jacksonville signed Trammell to a reserve/futures contract Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log. In his only appearance this regular season, Trammell caught two of his three targets for 40 yards, but he also lost a fumble. In 2025, he'll be fighting for a roster spot among a group of wide receivers that mostly disappointed in the most recent campaign.

  • Jaguars' Austin Trammell: Elevated from practice squad

The Jaguars elevated Trammell from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Trammell was unable to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he opted to stick around on the practice squad. He could see some meaningful snaps on offense against the Eagles on Sunday if one or both of Brian Thomas (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) is unable to play.

  • Austin Trammell: Back with Jaguars

The Jaguars signed Trammell to their practice squad Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Trammell will rejoin Jacksonville's squad after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster Tuesday. The fourth-year wideout appeared in 16 games with the Rams in 2023, catching four of his seven targets for 29 yards and no touchdowns while also playing 139 special-teams snaps.

  • Austin Trammell: Gets cut loose

Trammell was waived by the Jaguars on Tuesday. Trammell was working to secure a spot with Jacksonville after playing 16 regular-season games with the Rams last season but ultimately was unable to do so. He'll now have to work to find another opportunity.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Serves as primary return man

Trammell caught four passes for 29 yards, returned six kicks for 101 yards and 25 punts for 183 yards during the 2023 regular season. He also fumbled three times. The return numbers for the third year wideout and special teams contributor were meager compared to his contemporaries in the league (for reference, Keisean Nixon led the NFL with 782 kick return yards), and three fumbles also stands out as a worrisome stat. The Rams' special teams unit as a whole struggled mightily in 2023 between kicking woes and a lack of production in the return game, and while Trammell is an exclusive rights free agent, the Rams may not be keen on extending him a contract and could let him walk in free agency.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Sees big usage in win

Trammell caught three of six targets for 23 yards during Sunday's 17-16 victory against the Seahawks. He also returned four punts for 30 yards. Despite being primarily used as a special-teams player by the Rams through most of the season, Trammell saw a significant amount of action Sunday when Cooper Kupp (ankle) went down with an injury. Trammell's 46 snaps from scrimmage more than tripled the amount of snaps he had taken on offense all season (13), and was more than his fellow backups Ben Skowronek (nine) and Demarcus Robinson (seven) had combined. Trammell's six targets were also just one less than Puka Nacua and Darrell Henderson, and an expanded role may be available for the versatile wideout if Kupp were to miss any additional time.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Gets in full practice Thursday

Trammell (hip) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports. Trammell sustained a hip injury on a punt return in Week 8 against the Cowboys. He was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but his full participation Thursday indicates that he's trending towards being available for Week 9 against the Packers.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Promoted to active roster

The Rams elevated Trammell to their active roster Saturday. Trammell has played 11 special teams snaps in two contests this season. With this being the third time he has been elevated from the practice squad, the Rams would have to sign Trammell to their active roster following Sunday's contest against the Colts if they wish to play him for the remainder of the season.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Joins active roster

Trammell has been elevated to the Rams' active roster ahead of Monday's game against the Bengals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Trammell was also bumped up from the practice squad in Week 2, so this most likely has little to nothing to do with Puka Nacua (oblique) being questionable for the contest. The former only saw one snap on offense during the Rams' loss to the 49ers, but he did carry out kick-return duties and may do so again in Monday's matchup with the Bengals.

  • Austin Trammell: Earns chance on practice squad

Trammell was signed to the Rams' practice squad, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Trammell will join the practice squad in Los Angeles after failing to make the team's 53-man roster. The wideout appeared in six games for the Rams last season, totaling just 13 yards on two receptions. Trammell will practice with the team and provide depth to the Rams' wide receiver corps if the team needs him at any point throughout the season.

  • Austin Trammell: Cut Tuesday

The Rams waived Trammell on Tuesday. Trammell took advantage of numerous injuries and appeared in six games for the Rams last year, securing two of four targets for 13 yards. If he clears waivers, the 25-year-old wideout would presumably be a practice-squad candidate.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Slight uptick in playing time

Trammell caught one of two targets for five yards during Thursday's 17-16 victory against the Raiders. Trammell's second straight game on the Rams' active roster saw his snap count tick up to 12, a three-snap increase over his Week 13 count against the Seahawks. It was another mild performance from the 24-year-old, who currently sits along with Brandon Powell, Lance McCutcheon and Jacob Harris (shoulder) as depth pieces for the Rams behind Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell and Van Jefferson.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Earns promotion to active roster

The Rams signed Trammell from their practice squad to the 53-man roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus Seattle. With Allen Robinson (foot) recently having joined Cooper Kupp (ankle) on the injured reserve list, the Rams saw fit to bring Trammell aboard to provide some depth at the wide receiver position. The 24-year-old wideout has yet to play an offensive snap in his NFL career.

  • Rams' Austin Trammell: Four catches Friday

Trammell secured four of five targets for 46 yards during Friday's 24-20 preseason loss to the Texans, and he returned two punts for seven yards. Trammell spent the second straight game as second fiddle to breakout wide receiver Lance McCutcheon, but he produced consistent yardage for both John Wolford and Bryce Perkins in a complimentary role and was more effective than fellow receivers Jacob Harris and Landen Akers, who combined for 45 yards and five catches on 10 targets. While Trammell has put together two respectable performances so far in the preseason, he'll likely have to have a monster performance of his own against the Bengals in the final preseason game to leap over McCutcheon in the conversation for a roster spot.
