  • Texans' Woody Marks: Limited practice Thursday

Marks (ankle) was limited at practice Thursday. After logging a 'DNP' in Wednesday's session, Marks was able to return to a limited practice a day later, which has him trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Chiefs approaches. Friday's injury report will clarify whether the running back carries an injury designation into the weekend, but it's worth noting that coach DeMeco Ryans indicated Wednesday that Marks was among Houston's initial DNPs who should be fine for Week 14 action, per Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Back at practice Thursday

Marks (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. Marks was a non-participant in Wednesday's session, so his return to the field a day later aligns with coach DeMeco Ryans' previous comment to Alexander that the running back was among the Texans' initial DNPs who should be fine for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. The team's upcoming injury report will reveal if Marks was limited Thursday or practiced fully.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: RBs to Sit

You can use Marks as a flex option in Week 14 at Kansas City, but I can't continue to trust him as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in the majority of leagues. Even though he's taken over the Houston backfield ahead of Nick Chubb, Marks has scored 7.9 PPR points or less in three games in a row despite getting at least 17 total touches in each outing. His work in the passing game has disappeared with three catches for 5 yards on three targets in the past three weeks, and it doesn't help that the Chiefs are No. 6 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Managing ankle injury

Marks didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury. Marks was forced out of this past Sunday's win over the Colts due to a foot injury, but he subsequently returned to the contest. The running back is now listed as having an ankle issue, but according to Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, coach DeMeco Ryans noted Wednesday that Marks was among the Texans' DNPs who should be fine for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Not practicing Wednesday

Marks (foot) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle and Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston report. Marks exited Sunday's win over the Colts due to a foot injury, but was able to return to the contest en route to logging 41 snaps, 19 carries and a catch. With no setbacks having been reported since then, there's a solid chance that Marks' absence is maintenance-related, a notion echoed by coach DeMeco Ryans, who, according to Wilson, indicated that Marks was among the Texans' Wednesday DNPs who will be fine for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Big workload despite injury

Marks rushed 19 times for 64 yards and brought in his only target for three yards in the Texans' 20-16 win over the Colts on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered. Marks exited the game for a spell in the first half due to a foot injury, but the rookie not only made his way back in relatively short order, he put together a solid performance overall. His carry total was a new career high, and he managed to cross the 60-yard mark on the ground for the third time in four games as well. Marks was able to finish the contest and even managed key nine- and four-yard runs on the Texans' game-icing drive, and he should remain in clear control of the ground attack during a Week 14 road clash against the Chiefs next Sunday night.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Returns to action Sunday

Marks (foot) returned to Sunday's game against the Colts, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports. Marks exited the contest after sustaining a foot injury, but he was subsequently able to return to action and reclaim his role in a Week 13 Houston backfield that also includes Nick Chubb.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: RBs to Start

Marks has struggled the past two games against Tennessee and Buffalo despite dominating playing time in Houston's backfield with at least 66 percent of the snaps in each outing. He had at least 17 total touches in each game, but he scored 6.1 PPR points against the Titans and 7.9 PPR points against the Bills. I'm still going to use him again as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in Week 13 against the Colts, who have struggled the past two weeks against Atlanta and Kansas City, which are the first two games without standout defensive lineman DeForest Buckner (neck). Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier combined for 28 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns against Indianapolis in Week 10, and Kareem Hunt had 30 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown in Week 12. Marks should have a quality outing in this matchup, so give him one more chance in your starting lineup.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Solid as lead back in win

Marks rushed 16 times for 74 yards and brought in his only target for minus-5 yards in the Texans' 23-19 win over the Bills on Thursday night. Marks once again served as the clear lead back over Nick Chubb, who logged only six carries. The rookie delivered a career-best performance in terms of yardage, and he recorded a career-high three runs of double-digit yards. Marks appears clearly settled in as the leader of the backfield and will continue helming the ground attack in a critical Week 13 road showdown against the Colts on Sunday, Nov. 30.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: RBs to Start

Marks struggled in Week 11 at Tennessee with just 6.1 PPR points, but he should bounce back in Week 12 against the Bills. Buffalo is No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and De'Von Achane and Sean Tucker combined for 74.5 PPR points against the Bills in the past two games. For the season, eight running backs have scored at least 12.5 PPR points against Buffalo, and Marks has scored at least 12.5 PPR points in three of his past five games. I like Marks as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues in Week 12.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Elevated workload not part of plan

Houston offensive coordinator Nick Caley said Wednesday that giving Marks a greater workload in last week's win over Jacksonville was not part of the plan entering the game, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports. Marks got into a rhythm early against the Jaguars, and Caley abandoned a plan for backfield balance with Nick Chubb. "You go into a game and you sit there and try to have balance in the variety of ways for all the right reasons," Caley said. "Sometimes, you get into a rhythm. And he played well and he was playing well down the stretch." Marks and Chubb have been co-lead backs since Week 3, but the rookie was given a resounding 80 percent of the offensive snaps last week compared to Chubb's 13 percent. While it looks to the naked eye that Marks has moved ahead of Chubb, Caley is leaving wiggle room by saying "it's hard to say how every game's going to go." It's likely that both backs will get their opportunities going forward, but the slight playing time edge that once favored the veteran Chubb may be leaning Marks' way for the rest of the season.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: RBs to Start

Marks' best game so far this season was in Week 4 against Tennessee with 27.9 PPR points, and hopefully, he can replicate that performance against the Titans again in Week 11. He's worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues. Marks has scored at least 12.5 PPR points in three of his past four games coming into this game, and he appeared to finally take over the Houston backfield in Week 10 when he played a season-high 80 percent of the snaps against Jacksonville. He finished the game with 14 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown and two catches for 18 yards on three targets. Tennessee is No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and a running back has scored at least 16.6 PPR points against the Titans in six of their past seven games.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Leads backfield in win over Jags

Marks carried the ball 14 times for 63 yards and a touchdown and caught two of three targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over Jacksonville. The rookie RB led the Texans' backfield with 16 touches (to Nick Chubb's six) and 81 scrimmage yards to the veteran's 52, and Marks capped his strong performance with a one-yard TD plunge in the second quarter. He's seen double-digit carries in four straight games as he continues to push his way to the top of the depth chart, and Marks could deliver another big performance in Week 11 against the Titans -- a defense he erupted for 119 combined yards and two touchdowns against in Week 4.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Sleeper RBs

Marks had a down game in Week 9 against Denver with 10 carries for 27 yards and no catches on three targets, but I'll go back to him as a flex option in Week 10 against Jacksonville. Prior to Week 9, Marks had scored at least 12.5 PPR points in three of his past four games, and he should be a factor in the passing game against the Jaguars. Ashton Jeanty just had five catches for 47 yards and a touchdown on five targets against Jacksonville in Week 9, and Marks should be a weapon out of the backfield in this matchup.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Marks had a down game in Week 9 against Denver with 10 carries for 27 yards and no catches on three targets, but I'll go back to him as a flex option in Week 10 against Jacksonville. Prior to Week 9, Marks had scored at least 12.5 PPR points in three of his past four games, and he should be a factor in the passing game against the Jaguars, especially if linebacker Devin Lloyd (calf) remains out. Ashton Jeanty just had five catches for 47 yards and a touchdown on five targets against Jacksonville in Week 9, and Marks should be a weapon out of the backfield in this matchup.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Quiet in loss to Denver

Marks carried the ball 10 times for 27 yards and failed to catch any of his three targets in Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Broncos. The rookie split the workload with Nick Chubb almost equally, but neither RB was able to gain much yardage. Marks has seen double-digit carries in three straight games, compiling 104 rushing yards on just 3.4 yards per carry and adding a 7-69-1 line on 12 targets, and he's not making much of a case to pass Chubb on the depth chart completely. The Texans saw C.J. Stroud (concussion) leave Sunday's game early, and if he gets replaced under center by Davis Mills in Week 10, it could mean a bigger emphasis on the ground attack against the Jaguars.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Sleeper RBs

If you were like me and started Marks as a flex option in several leagues in Week 7 at Seattle, then we got lucky that he caught a touchdown to help him finish with 12.5 PPR points. He had 10 carries for 15 yards and three catches for 20 yards and the score on five targets, but he dominated playing time ahead of Nick Chubb with 63 percent of the snaps. We hope that's a sign of things to come, and Marks should be considered a flex against the 49ers in Week 8. San Francisco has allowed a running back to score at least 17.6 PPR points in four games in a row, and the 49ers have allowed 17 receptions to the past three starting running backs in Kyren Williams, Rachaad White, and Bijan Robinson. Given Marks' role in the passing game, he could be a popular target for C.J. Stroud, especially if Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) are out.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: RBs to Start

Marks will hopefully continue to get more work for the Texans in place of Nick Chubb, and Marks has scored at least 12.5 PPR points in three of his past four games, including two in a row against Seattle and San Francisco. His best outings have come when he's involved in the passing game, and he has seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown on nine targets in his past two outings. Marks doesn't have an easy matchup in Week 9 against Denver, but three running backs in the past four games against the Broncos have scored at least 17.8 PPR points. I like Marks as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Productive with extra touches

Marks rushed 11 times for 62 yards and secured all four targets for 49 yards in the Texans' 26-15 win over the 49ers on Sunday. Marks led the Texans in rushing yards despite logging six fewer carries than backfield mate Nick Chubb, and he also made his mark as a pass catcher with a game-long 50-yard reception. Marks' 5.6 yards per carry served as a new career high, and he's now been afforded double-digit carries in three of the last four games while generating an 11-119-1 receiving line in the same span. The ascending rookie next sets his sights on a Week 9 home matchup against a tough Broncos defense.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Catches touchdown pass on MNF

Marks rushed 10 times for 15 yards and caught three of five targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 27-19 loss to Seattle. Marks received double-digit carries for the second time this year, but he barely averaged more than one yard per tote. The fourth-round rookie did almost all of his damage as a receiver, catching his second touchdown of the season to cut Seattle's lead to one score in the fourth quarter. Marks did come up hobbling following his late touchdown grab, so make sure he doesn't pop up on the injury report leading into Sunday's tilt against San Francisco.
