Raiders' Leon Hall: Lands on IR
Hall (back) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
Hall suffered a back injury during Oakland's Week 11 win over the Cardinals, the severity of which will ultimately require him to spend the rest of the season on injured reserve. The 33-year-old had been a key piece of the Raiders' defense all season, and his absence should bring an uptick in snaps for Rashaan Melvin and Nick Nelson in nickel and dime packages.

Hall's absence doesn't come with much surprise after he failed to practice in any capacity this week. With the veteran out for the first time this season, fellow cornerbacks Rashaan Melvin and Nick Nelson could pick up a few additional snaps in nickel and dime packages.

Hall (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Ravens, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Hall sustained the injury in the second half of last week's game against the Cardinals. The Michigan product was unable to log a practice in any capacity this week. If Hall is forced to miss time on the field Sunday, Gareon Conley (heel) and Nick Nelson could see increased work in the secondary.

Raiders' Leon Hall: Signs with Oakland
Hall signed a contract with the Raiders on Thursday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
Hall has played for the Giants and the 49ers the past two years after spending the first nine years of his career with Cincinnati. The 33-year-old cornerback recorded 15 tackles and one pass defensed while playing in nine games in 2017. He'll likely be a depth corner while with Oakland in 2018.

49ers' Leon Hall: Re-signs with San Francisco
Hall signed a contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The 49ers parted ways with Hall less than a week earlier before he could make his team debut, but seeing the field in San Francisco's Week 8 matchup with the Eagles may be a more realistic possibility. Reserve cornerback K'Waun Williams suffered a quadriceps injury in last Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and is considered unlikely to play in Week 8, perhaps paving the way for Hall to be active on game day.

Hall was released Thursday by the 49ers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Hall signed with the 49ers just over a week ago, which makes his sudden release fairly surprising. The veteran cornerback did not see the field during his very short stint in San Francisco and will be on the free agent market once again.

Hall signed a contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
The 32-year-old veteran played 12 games with the Giants last season, recording 31 tackles, two sacks and one interception in the process. He failed to sign on with any team this offseason, but could now become an immediate contributor on defense given the plethora of injures in San Francisco's secondary. Even if he doesn't see the field at first, Hall's veteran presence will help guide the 49ers' young cornerbacks.
