Johnson was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Johnson seemingly dodged a positive COVID-19 result, as he's come off the reserve list just three days after initially joining. The 2019 fourth-round pick has been handed an inconsistent workload this season, fielding 50-plus defensive snaps Weeks 9 and 12, but only five snaps per game over his other 11 appearances of the year.
The Raiders placed Johnson on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Johnson either tested positive for the virus or came into close contact with an infected person. If it's merely the latter, the second-year cornerback has a chance to play in the Week 16 matchup against Miami. His status for that contest should be evident by whether he's present at practice Wednesday or Thursday.
Johnson (groin) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.
The 24-year-old was sidelined for last week's win over the Jets due to the groin injury, but he's ready to take the field Sunday. Johnson played 60 defensive snaps Week 12 but should return to a reserve role with Trayvon Mullen now healthy.
Johnson (groin) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Johnson's practice availability during the week went the wrong direction; he logged FP/LP/DNP before ultimately being deemed questionable. Johnson's absence will hurt the depth at cornerback for the contest, but the good news for the Raiders was that fellow cornerback Trayvon Mullen (illness) was deemed healthy enough to play. With Johnson sidelined, expect Mullen and Nevin Lawson to handle starting duties with Amik Robertson and Damon Arnette seeing depth action.
Johnson (undisclosed) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
The 24-year-old was placed on the COVID list earlier in the week as a high-risk close contact, but he's back on the roster in time for Week 11. Johnson should fill a rotational role in the secondary for the Raiders.
The Raiders placed Johnson on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN reports.
Johnson was considered a high-risk close contact after Clelin Ferrell tested positive for the virus Tuesday. Johnson will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs as long as he continues to test negative this week leading up to the game.
Johnson (back) says he's 100 percent healthy, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
The 2019 fourth-round pick endured a difficult rookie campaign, starting with a concussion and facial fracture early in the preseason. He returned from injured reserve in November and logged 63 special-teams snaps in five games, but a bulging disc in his back required surgery shortly after the season. While he'll likely open training camp with the second- or third-string defense, Johnson has the physical traits of a high-end starter, boasting 4.40 speed at 6-2, 210.
Johnson underwent minor back surgery Tuesday according to his personal Twitter account.
Johnson noted that the procedure was minor and he will be back in plenty of time for the 2020 season. Look for more updates on his status when the Raiders return for offseason workouts.
Johnson (concussion) was activated off injured reserve Monday, Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune reports.
Johnson was designated to return and started practicing Oct. 14, so Monday was the final day of the 21-day window to activate him. The rookie fourth-round pick may start out in a depth role, but he could easily carve out a sizable role in Oakland's secondary given its porous pass defense.
Johnson (concussion) is practicing Monday, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The Raiders have a 21-day practice window to decide whether to officially activate Johnson or place him on season-ending injured reserve, per Blair. The rookie fourth-round pick appears to be progressing well in his recovery, and he would likely play a depth or rotational role in Oakland's secondary if activated to the roster.
Coach Jon Gruden plans to have Johnson (concussion) return to practice Monday, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Johnson landed on injured reserve in early September due to the concussion, and Monday would be the earliest he's allowed to resume practicing. The 23-year-old appears on track to return when first eligible after spending the first eight games on the shelf.
Johnson (concussion) announced via his Twitter profile that he was placed on injured reserve Monday and that he's also dealing with a fracture on the right side of his face.
Johnson originally suffered the injuries Aug. 11. The 23-year-old won't be eligible to return until Week 9 if he's able to recover from his injuries by then. For now, it seems that Keisean Nixon will shoulder the extra reps in Johnson's absence.
Coach Jon Gruden said Sunday that Johnson is dealing with a facial injury, and his status for Week 1 is unclear, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The injury is said to have something to do with his vision and likely stems from a concussion he suffered in the first game of the preseason. It's unclear if Johnson has cleared the concussion protocol, but he'll have to receive full clearance before returning to the field. If the Houston product can't go for Week 1, Nick Nelson could see an increased role in the defense.
Johnson left Saturday's preseason win over the Rams early after he suffered a concussion and didn't return, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
It's unclear how the Houston product picked up the injury, but it's certainly a negative that he was diagnosed with a concussion. Johnson will now enter the leagues mandated concussion protocol and will have to gain medical clearance before returning to the field. The 2019 fourth-round pick will now miss out on valuable reps until he's fully healthy.
The Raiders selected Johnson in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 129th overall.
A converted wide receiver, Johnson brings length and athleticism to the cornerback position out of Houston. Johnson checks in at 6-foot-2 and 208 pounds with legit 4.40 speed and can still reach another level if developed properly. He may be raw initially for the Raiders but in time he can challenge for a starting role opposite Gareon Conley.
