The Bears activated Simmons (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.
Simmons tested positive for COVID-19 on Nov. 8, but he's now managed to clear all required medical benchmarks. He'll be eligible to suit up in a depth role when Chicago next returns to action Nov. 29 at Green Bay.
The Bears placed Simmons on the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.
Simmons tested positive for the virus, according to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com, so he'll need to pass the proper protocols before returning to team activities. The Bears elevated Aaron Neary from the practice squad to add depth on the offensive line.
