Brown (quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
The undrafted rookie made the first start of his career Sunday against the Dolphins and had five solo tackles before going down with the injury in the fourth quarter. The 23-year-old finishes his first NFL season having playing in three games after being promoted from the practice squad in mid-November.
Brown was spotted using crutches due to a quadriceps injury following Sunday's win over the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
Brown had his busiest game of the season with five solo tackles. The 23-year-old cornerback will need to make a quick recovery in order to play Thursday against the Ravens.
The Jets promoted Brown to the 53-man roster Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Brown has spent his entire year on Gang Green's practice squad. Trumaine Johnson (ankle) is on injured reserve and Darryl Roberts' (calf) status for Sunday against the Redskins is uncertain, so Brown -- an undrafted rookie -- could make his NFL debut.
