Jakub Jerabek: KHL bound
Jerabek has decided to return to Europe, signing a one-year deal with HC Vityaz of the KHL, per TSN.
With only 37 games under his belt, Jerabek's time in the NHL has come to an end, at least for the time being. The 27-year-old had just two goals and six assists during his North American stay. His new deal takes him back to HC Vityaz, where Jerabek racked up 34 points in 59 games back in 2016-17.

Blues' Jakub Jerabek: Placed on waivers Tuesday
Jerabek was designated for waivers by the Blues on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
The move to waive Jerabek -- with the goal of sending him down to the minors -- is a good indication Carl Gunnarsson (hip) will be activated off non-roster, injured reserve ahead of Thursday's matchup with Vegas. St. Louis traded a 2020 sixth-round pick to the Oilers in order to acquire Jerabek before the start of the season and will now risk losing him for nothing if another team submits a claim.

Blues' Jakub Jerabek: Will make Blues debut Thursday
Jerabek will slot into the Blues' third defensive pairing Thursday against the Flames, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The 27-year-old blueliner made his NHL debut last season and split time between the Canadiens and Capitals, totaling eight points in 36 regular-season games before adding an assist in two playoff games. The Blues have a crowded blue line, though, so they'll see how Jerabek fits in before they decide their next move. That will include either keeping him with the big club long term or placing him on waivers for the purpose of assignment.

Blues' Jakub Jerabek: Visa issues cleared up
Jerabek obtained a work visa and has been added to the Blues' active roster, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports.
Since Joel Edmundson (groin) remains day-to-day, the Blues only have seven healthy defensemen, including Jerabek. Once Edmundson is healthy, however, they'll likely need to send either Jerabek or Jordan Schmaltz to AHL San Antonio. Both players require waivers.

Blues' Jakub Jerabek: Working out visa issues
Jerabek will be a non-roster player with the Blues until he clears up his work visa issues, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
With the trade from Edmonton the St. Louis, Jerabek needs a work visa to be employed in the United States. The Czech forward won't stick with the Blues once these concerns are sorted out, as they're already set on the blue line and his previous NHL work -- eight points in 36 games -- doesn't warrant an immediate role with the big club.

The Oilers traded Jerabek to the Blues in exchange for a 2020 sixth-round draft pick Monday.
Jerabek was waived Sunday, at which point it appeared that he was bound to sync up with AHL Bakersfield or possibly even head overseas. However, now that he's in St. Louis, there's a chance that he could crack the Opening Night roster since the club is dealing with injuries to Joel Edmundson (groin) and Carl Gunnarsson (hip), as well as a suspension for rugged blueliner Robert Bortuzzo.

Jerabek was waived by the Oilers for purpose of reassignment on Sunday.
Jerabek -- who was signed to a one-year deal over the summer -- could opt to make a move overseas rather than report to AHL Bakersfield. The defenseman played nine seasons in Europe, primarily in the Czech Republic with Plzen HC, and could decide to make the move back rather than sit in the minors await a call-up.

Oilers' Jakub Jerabek: Secures one-year pact
Jerabek signed a one-year contract with Edmonton on Monday.
Jerabek's addition to the Oilers is clearly the club response to losing Andrej Sekera (Achilles) until at least January. The 23-year-old Jerabek figures to compete with Kevin Gravel and Evan Bouchard for a spot in the third pairing. Even if he wins the job coming out of training camp, there is no guarantee he will still be in the lineup once Sekera is cleared to return.

Jerabek will be playing just his second game with the Capitals after being acquired from the Canadiens via trade Feb. 21. With just four points in 26 games on the season, the 22-year-old blueliner has precious little fantasy value to offer until he can become a regular in the lineup.

Considering Jerabek was averaging 17:21 of ice time in his limited outings (25) for the Habs, Tuesday's game marks a significant drop-off. Coach Barry Trotz could just be easing the Czech into his defensive system, but it certainly doesn't seem like he will be getting a lot of opportunities. Unsurprisingly, the blueliner managed to record only one hit and two blocks.

Jerabek only totaled one goal and four points in 25 games with the Canadiens before being dealt to Washington on Wednesday, but he's been a steady source of offense for Montreal's AHL affiliate this campaign, notching one goal and 11 points in 17 contests. The 22-year-old blueliner will solidify the Capitals' depth at defense down the stretch, but he likely won't produce enough offense to establish himself as a viable fantasy option.

Capitals' Jakub Jerabek: Visa process delays debut
Jerabek, who the Capitals acquired for a 2019 fifth-round pick (via Montreal) last Wednesday, will not play until his visa issues are settled, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports. This effectively rules him out for Monday's road game against the Blue Jackets.

The Canadiens traded Jerabek to the Capitals in exchange for a 2019 fifth-round draft pick Wednesday.
While he wasn't drafted into the NHL, Jerabek initially caught the attention of the Habs by flashing tremendous passing skills with Plzen HC of the Czech league and also the KHL circuit from 2008-17 -- including 25-plus helpers in each of his last three campaigns overseas. Jerabek has posted 11 points in 17 games with AHL Laval in addition to four in 25 at the highest level this year. It's clear that the Capitals are trying to bolster their depth on the blue line, having acquired both Michal Kempy and Jerabek this week.

Canadiens' Jakub Jerabek: Pots first NHL goal Wednesday
Jerabek scored his first career NHL goal in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins.
His shot from the point made it past a screened Tuukka Rask just 31 seconds into the game. After going scoreless through his first 17 games for the Habs, Jerabek suddenly has three points in his last two contests, but the rookie still has a lot to prove before he'll be on the fantasy radar in most formats.

Canadiens' Jakub Jerabek: Finally finds scoresheet
Jerabek collected two assists, three shots and two blocked shots through 19:10 of ice time during Monday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders.
After going without a point through his first 17 career contests, Jerabek's two-assist showing was a pleasant surprise. He's received a slight boost in ice time (19:35 per game) of late while recording 11 shots and 10 blocked shots through his past six outings, so his fantasy stock could be on the rise. It's likely still best to leave Jerabek to the waiver wire outside of cavernous settings for the time being, though.

Canadiens' Jakub Jerabek: Remains pointless
Jerabek continues to look for his first NHL point.
In his 14 outings this season since being called up in mid-November, Jerabek has been held off the scoresheet while averaging 15:55 of ice time. Last season, the defenseman notched five goals and 29 helpers in 59 games in the KHL, but has yet to show any semblance of the scoring touch he had playing in Russia. If he doesn't turn his game around soon, Jerabek could find himself headed for the press box once Shea Weber (foot) is given the all-clear.

Jerabek will play Wednesday against the Predators, replacing rookie Victor Mete in the lineup.
This will be Jerabek's NHL debut after spending the previous season in the KHL, where he was named an All-Star. The Habs will need all the help they can get with Antti Niemi in net, and head coach Claude Julien is going with someone with a little more pro experience. Jerabek's scored 11 points in 17 games with AHL Laval, and may even get some power-play time on the second unit.

Jerabek had one shot, one hit, one blocked shot and was plus-1 over 18:16 of ice time in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss to Nashville.
Jerabek, who played in the Russian KHL last year and signed as a free agent this past summer, made his NHL debut. He played just four first-period shifts, but he adjusted to the pace of play as the game went on, earning himself more shifts. The 26-year-old Czech replaced the 19-year-old Victor Mete, who had been given fewer than 10 minutes of ice time in the previous game.

Jerabek was recalled from AHL Laval on Wednesday.
Wednesday's recall is the first of the 26-year-old's career, having scored 11 points in 17 games, as well as posting a plus-10 rating. While slightly undersized, Jerabek has strong puck-moving abilities and will likely get some power-play opportunities if he's inserted into the lineup during his recall.
