  • Canadiens' David Reinbacher: Another big game Saturday

Reinbacher scored twice in AHL Laval's 7-2 win over Belleville on Saturday. Reinbacher posted three goals and an assist over two games versus Belleville on consecutive days. He's already at a career-high seven points in 10 AHL contests, with his past two outings accounting for over half of his offense. Reinbacher will have plenty of time to continue developing in the AHL this year, where he'll be able to play big minutes.

  • Canadiens' David Reinbacher: One of each in overtime win

Reinbacher scored a goal on three shots and added an assist in AHL Laval's 4-3 overtime win over Belleville on Friday. Reinbacher earned his first goal and first multi-point effort of the season in this contest. He's at five points over nine games in 2025-26 since he recovered from a broken hand that kept him out of action for over four weeks to begin the season. The 21-year-old blueliner has had a long list of injuries early in his career, and the Canadiens' defense at the NHL level has been a strength, so the team can be patient with his development.

  • Canadiens' David Reinbacher: Out with broken hand

Reinbacher suffered a broken metacarpal bone and will be out for four weeks, the Habs announced Friday. Reinbacher missed much of the 2024-25 campaign with a knee injury and now once again finds himself on the shelf for at least four weeks. It was unlikely that the 20-year-old blueliner was going to make the Opening Night roster to begin with, but this injury all but guarantees he will start the year in the minors with AHL Laval.

  • Canadiens' David Reinbacher: Off non-roster IR, sent to minors

Reinbacher (knee) was taken off non-roster injured reserve and reassigned to AHL Laval on Wednesday. Reinbacher hasn't played in 2024-25 due to the injury. The 20-year-old defenseman got his first taste of North American pro hockey last year, scoring two goals and five points across 11 regular-season outings with Laval. Montreal selected him with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. Although he has tremendous upside, Reinbacher will probably spend the remainder of the season in the minors after missing so much development time while recovering from surgery on his left knee in October.

  • Canadiens' David Reinbacher: Out indefinitely

Reinbacher had surgery performed on his left knee Tuesday morning. His recovery time is expected to take five-to-six months. Reinbacher exited Saturday's preseason contest against Toronto after sustaining the injury. It's a huge blow for Reinbacher and the Canadiens alike -- the 19-year-old was the No. 5 overall selection by the Habs in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Montreal could choose to shut Reinbacher down for the entire season if the club is out of playoff contention in March.

  • Canadiens' David Reinbacher: Exits game with lower-body injury

Reinbacher left Saturday's game against Toronto due to a lower-body injury and won't return to the contest. Reinbacher had two goals and five points in 11 games with AHL Laval in 2023-24. He also recorded a goal and 11 points in 35 outings with Kloten of Switzerland's National League. The 19-year-old isn't likely to make Montreal's Opening Night roster, but he is expected to be a big part of the Canadiens' future after being selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
