XFL scores, highlights in Week 1: New York Guardians, St. Louis BattleHawks earn wins on opening weekend
The second day of the XFL's opening weekend is here, so keep coming back for updates on all the action
The first day of the new XFL saw a double-reverse flea flicker, a new kickoff format that might take some getting used to, and two games in the books. Vince McMahon's revived spring league saw a lot more action on Day 2 -- including the New York Guardians easily defeating the Tampa Bay Vipers (who oddsmakers had set as the team with the highest win total) in the early game Sunday. The St. Louis BattleHawks also became the only road team to walk out of Week 1 with a victory after quarterback Jordan Ta'amu was able to take down the Dallas Renegades in Sunday's finale. There will be a 10-week regular season for the XFL's eight teams, which leads up to the inaugural championship in April.

BattleHawks defensive back Will Hill picks off Nelson to clinch the game for St. Louis. Dallas is the first home team to lose in the XFL's opening weekend.
Dallas needs to push the envelop and take some shots down field here.
Dallas is going to get the ball back here with a shot of possibly tying this game. Have no timeouts, but the time stoppage should help them attempt to march down the field.
BattleHawks are starting to unravel a bit here. Can't take a sack in that situation.
Jordan Ta'amu is completing 74% of his passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. He also has 82 yards on the ground.
Tough day so far for the Renegades, especially on third down. They've only converted one of their ten attempts to this point. Curious to see how Dallas looks when they get Landry Jones back next week.
Dallas is on the verge of being the only home team to lose in this opening weekend for the XFL. Guardians, Defenders and Roughnecks all were able to take advantage of the home field.
Massive stop defensively for the Renegades to sack Ta'amu on third down. Felt like that drive was destined to result in a touchdown for St. Louis. Credit to Dallas for holding them here. Still trail 15-9 with 5:16 left in the fourth quarter.
This drive is a rushing clinic being put on by the BattleHawks. 184 yards on the ground so far.
BattleHawks are starting to run right down Dallas' throats here.
Gotta turn your head around on that one.
GAH. YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR THAT, JAZZ.
Ta'amu throws a dart at the back of the end zone for a BattleHawks touchdown. This has been a game that's starved for offense, but Ta'amu has been really shown some flashes.
Ta'amu takes a quarterback draw 37 yards down the field. BattleHawks are now knocking on the door of the red zone.
I mean I feel like Mumme has been setting it up all day with these little dump offs.
Now might be a good time break out the double forward pass ...
What are you doing?!?!? Marquette King just had the PERFECT punt but gets called for a touchback. Major mental error.
A brutal touchback if I've ever seen one.
The cameraman almost got his golden opportunity during that Ta'amu botched snap.
WAYLP. Bad snap goes past Ta'amu, but the disaster is mitigated by way of an incomplete pass. Could have been worse.
Nelson tried to pull a spin move on that BattleHawk defender and it ... did not go well.
Play of the day has been a punt, which might tell you all you need to know.
Go for it, Stoops.
Nelson with a nice pass over the middle and Dallas is in the red zone. Offenses have been finding some grooves lately.
