Briere hit with minor suspension: The NHL has suspended Philadelphia Flyers forward Daniel Briere two games for a late hit on Colorado Avalanche defenseman Scott Hannan. The league announced the discipline Tuesday. The incident occurred at 9:06 of the second period Monday night, right after Hannan had scored. Briere had two goals and four points on Monday.

Fantasy Analysis

Briere will miss games Wednesday against the New York Islanders and Friday at Buffalo. He will be eligible to return Saturday at Atlanta. Briere says he respects the decision and will try to move on once he's back. It might look bad that Briere will miss two games, but the good news is that he will get time to rest and maybe it will help him in the long run in staying healthy. Briere remains a viable Fantasy start when active. Don't remove him from lineups heading into Week 9 (Nov. 30-Dec. 6).
