Jenkins (1-2) pitched six innings, allowing one unearned run, four hits and four walks while striking out four Phillies to pick up his first major league win Friday.

The only offense worse than the team Jenkins pitches for is the one he pitched against Friday, but at least he capitalized on the opportunity. The 24-year-old now has three major league starts under his belt, and two of them have been quality outings. Jenkins was a highly-touted prospect, but he still relies strictly on his fastball and a slider. Until he develops a third pitch that can be trusted to attack hitters with, Jenkins will continue to see a mixed bag of results.
