Miller (elbow) was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Monday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Miller sustained a right elbow strain late in the 2021 season and was unable to return for the NL Wild Card Game. The right-hander will now lose his spot on the 40-man roster after Jordan Hicks (elbow) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Monday. Miller made 23 appearances with the Nationals and Cardinals in 2021 and posted a 6.16 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 19 innings.
