Cubs' David Bote: Contract selected

The Cubs selected Bote's contract from Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The 31-year-old hasn't seen action in the big leagues since 2022 but earned another opportunity after he posted an .887 OPS in 28 games at Triple-A Iowa to begin the season. Bote should fill a utility role and could see some starts against left-handed pitching.
