Fargas' contract was selected from Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Fargas was outrighted to the minors in late August, and he slashed .230/.269/.392 with two homers, 11 runs, six RBI and four stolen bases across 21 appearances in Iowa since then. He'll serve as outfield depth after Nick Martini (undisclosed) was placed on the injured list Friday.
