Sherfy pitched two perfect innings while striking out three en route to recording his first career save Sunday against the Rockies.
He came on to preserve a three-run lead in the top of the eighth inning, and the Diamondbacks tacked on another insurance run in the bottom of the eighth, winning 5-1. Sherfy has legit ninth-inning stuff, and may one day occupy that role for Arizona, but this seems like it was just a one-off situation where the team was able to avoid using Fernando Rodney for a third straight day.
