Moronta was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Andrew Baggarly of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
He has a 2.12 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 17 innings (13 appearances) with Sacramento. Moronta has late-inning stuff, but throwing strikes has always been an issue for him. Look for him to work in low-leverage situations this year, although he could earn a look in high-leverage spots in the future.
