Indians' James Ramsey: Designated for assignment

Ramsey was designated for assignment Monday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

This move was made following the addition of Joba Chamberlain. Ramsey hit .243/.327/.382 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI in Triple-A last season and will continue to develop in the minor leagues.
