Kent Emanuel: Released by Pittsburgh

Emanuel was released by the Pirates on Thursday.

Emanuel posted a 6.19 ERA over 20 appearances -- 13 starts -- with Triple-A Indianapolis. The 31-year-old did pitch well in the minors when healthy last season, but he's dealt with shoulder and elbow problems off and on for the last two years.
