Diaz won't start Friday against the Dodgers, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The Marlins designated Jesus Aguilar for assignment Friday, but that evidently doesn't mean Diaz will move into an everyday role. He should continue to get opportunities against righties, but he's started just once against lefties all season and won't double that total here against Tyler Anderson. Garrett Cooper will be the first baseman, while Nick Fortes serves as the designated hitter.
